2PM’s Junho And Lee Se Young will be appearing in the upcoming MBC historical drama “The Red Sleeve Cuff.”
The upcoming drama will tell the story of an imperial court romance between a court lady, who wanted to protect the life she has chosen, and an emperor, who put the nation first before love. The drama is based on a novel of the same title and will be directed by PD Jung Ji In who previously worked on Radiant Office” and “Hold Me Tight,” and it will be written by scriptwriter Jung Hae Ri, who worked on “Ruler: Master of the Mask.”
This will be 2PM’s Junho first role since his military discharge back in March. He’s taking on the role of Yi San, born as the direct descendant and eldest grandson of the King, he puts effort to become a wise and good king but he’s been traumatized by his father’s death. When he meets he ambitious court lady Seong Deok Im, he begins to show a romantic side he didn’t know he had. He will become conflicted between behaving rationally as the nation’s leader and loving passionately as a man.
Lee Se Young will be playing court lady Seong Deok Im, she wishes to be independent rather than being one of the king’s many women. She seeks small happiness moments inside the palace, her life drastically changes after she meets Yi San.

MBC is in the zone when it comes to historical dramas, its something they do well at.
I missed Junho a lot. I know he picks interesting projects and so does Lee Se Young so I’ll have the faith that this will be a good pick.
Personally speaking, historical projects aren’t my favorite genre but for those two actors that I love I’ll surely be watching the premiere.
The idea seems nice, I can already picture them in those roles, and I think they’ll have good chemistry together. Fighting!
