“Catfishing” is a term describing when a person uses fake images online to attract attention. The MTV reality program Catfish was created around the concept and captured the attention of audiences worldwide.
With how interested people are in the concept, it’s easy to see why a 52-year-old man caught catching as a beautiful young woman sparked so much interest online!
In early 2019, a Twitter account with the username @azusagakuyuko began sharing photos of themselves online. The images depicted a young, beautiful woman and her motorbike going on adventures in Japan.
The account quickly racked up thousands of followers, attracting many to the young woman’s earnest smile and bright eyes.
However, suspicions arose after the account shared a specific photo. The picture, taken to show a special bike, included the vehicle’s mirror and depicted someone who looked very different from the lady.
Not too long after, a variety program in Japan tracked down the biker who revealed that she was actually a 52-year-old he!
According to the still unnamed biker, he used FaceApp, a photo editing tool, to alter his appearance to attract more attention on social media. The only similarity between the edited photos and the man is his long luscious hair!
Usually, this sort of deception is met with contempt and ends badly for the “deceiver.” In this case, the biker’s reveal earned him more attention, and he continues to post the same heavily edited photos on social media today!
