Black Out kdrama – Episode 12 Recap and Spoilers.

Oh the many many lies they all tell…

On the MBC Friday-Saturday drama “Black Out,” which aired on September 27th, the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Park Da-eun (Han So-eun) and Shim Bo-young (Jang Ha-eun) were revealed.

Eleven years ago, Shin Chu-ho (Lee Doo-il) and Yang Heung-soo (Cha Soon-bae) killed Shim Bo-young and disposed of her body in an abandoned school. On their way back, they were shaken and got into an accident.

The two crashed into a utility pole and a parked car, coming to a stop. A witness to the accident saw Shin Chu-ho and Yang Heung-soo panicking and remarked, “You old men,” as he walked by.

Yang Heung-soo suggested, “Shouldn’t we tell Goo Tak (Kwon Hae-hyo)?” but Shin Chu-ho stopped him, saying, “Goo Tak will kill us too if he finds out.” At that moment, they hid as a police car rushed toward the village.

Meanwhile, Hyun Goo-tak, who had fled, sought out Shim Dong-min (Jo Jae-yoon) and asked, “Why did you do that?” When Shim Dong-min replied, “Because you’re the one who killed Bo-young,” Hyun Goo-tak tried to comfort him, saying, “You should have told me first!” In the end, Shim Dong-min put down his gun and cried.

Noh Sang-chul (Go Joon) interrogated Shim Dong-min, who claimed that on the day of the incident, Hyun Goo-tak, Shin Chu-ho, and Yang Heung-soo had been drinking together before leaving. Shim Dong-min stated, “I’m not ashamed of killing Shin Chu-ho. But…” and lowered his head.

Noh Sang-chul, investigating Yang Heung-soo, was taken aback when he asked, “Was Chief Hyun there on the day of the incident?” Yang Heung-soo excitedly responded, “Why would Chief Hyun be there? Dong-min got drunk and left first! We and Chief Hyun are not on the same level!”

As Noh Sang-chul struggled to reconstruct the events of that day, Hyun Goo-tak said, “Team Leader Noh, you can investigate me.” Noh Sang-chul immediately asked, “Where were you on the day of the incident?” Hyun Goo-tak, sensing suspicion, replied, “The former chief called me, and I went.”

Ye Young-sil remembered Choi Na-gyeom (Go Bo-gyeol), who had pleaded, “Please let Jung-woo leave Mucheon with me.” Choi Na-gyeom mentioned, “There were many unsolved cases,” wishing for Go Jeong-woo (Byun Yo-han) to remain the true culprit.

Ye Young-sil (Bae Jong-ok) called Hyun Goo-tak to threaten him but instead showed him a picture drawn by Hyun Soo-oh (Lee Ga-seop). The drawing depicted Hyun Soo-oh hiding in a warehouse while Park Hyung-sik (Gong Jeong-hwan) killed Park Da-eun.

Hyun Goo-tak went further, showing Ye Young-sil a photo of a secret meeting between Park Da-eun and Park Hyung-sik. He revealed his ambition, stating, “I want to follow you, Congressman.” Ye Young-sil suggested, “After you take office as governor, come with me as head of the Southern Police Agency Public Security Department.” Hyun Goo-tak then called Kim Hee-do (Jang Won-young) to address the situation, urging her to “write a resignation letter.” Kim Hee-do felt betrayed and disappointed by Hyun Goo-tak’s words, saying, “Your mistake is too big. Admit it and fix it one by one.”

Choi Na-gyeom recalled the events of 11 years ago. He visited Go Jeong-woo, trembling with fear after learning about the connection between Park Da-eun and Park Hyung-sik in the murder case. However, upon discovering that Go Jeong-woo had sent a text to Park Da-eun, pleading, “I’ll fix everything,” he decided to proceed with his plan to trap Go Jeong-woo again. At Shin Chu-ho’s funeral, Hyun Goo-tak apologized, saying, “Uncle was wrong.” Go Jeong-woo responded, “I don’t know, but you should have kept looking for the girls. Bo-young was alone in the dark…” and then suddenly stood up as his emotions boiled over, feeling disappointed with Hyun Goo-tak’s excuses.

Eleven years ago, Ye Young-sil knew what Park Hyung-sik had done. She admonished him, “I told you not to do three things: don’t get her pregnant, don’t do anything that can’t be solved with money, and don’t do things that will be in the news. Is that so difficult?” Ye Young-sil expressed her anger calmly. Park Hyung-sik was distressed as he recalled the incident. Noh Sang-chul asked a classmate from Gwangsoo University for help to visit Park Da-eun’s grandmother in Seoul for further investigation. Park Da-eun’s grandmother said, “His voice was low and soft. He was like a teacher.”

Noh Sang-chul suspected Go Jeong-woo’s innocence but struggled to find evidence to prove it. He told Go Jeong-woo, “The voice on the phone is definitely not Park Da-eun’s age.”

Noh Sang-chul attempted to install a safety app for Go Jeong-woo but noticed something strange. Go Jeong-woo was surprised when Noh Sang-chul mentioned, “You and Choi Na-gyeom are linked.”

Hyun Goo-tak brought Hyun Soo-oh back home from the hospital. Despite Hyun Goo-tak’s questions, Hyun Soo-oh remained silent, heading somewhere in the garden with a bouquet of flowers, looking healthy like Hyun Gun-oh.

“You’ve been waiting a long time, haven’t you?” Hyun Gun-oh said, sitting next to Park Da-eun, who was lying in her school uniform. He began reading a scene from “Snow White” to her. Hyun Soo-oh read the passage, “Even after so many years, Snow White’s body did not rot at all,” quickly.

Viewers were astonished, wondering, “Could it be that Hyun Soo-oh had Park Da-eun’s body?” Reactions included, “Hyun Soo-oh’s acting is outstanding every episode,” “Who will compensate Jung-woo for his ten years?” and “Does the chief know about Da-eun’s body?”
