Black Out kdrama – Episode 13 Recap and Spoilers.

With one episode left, Byun Yo-han and Go Joon have found all the real culprits of the murder case from 11 years ago.

In episode 13 of MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama Black Out, which aired on the 28th, Go Jeong-woo (Byun Yo-han) and Noh Sang-chul (Go Joon) followed Park Hyung-sik (Gong Jung-hwan), who had killed Park Da-eun (Han So-eun). However, before Park Hyung-sik could be arrested by the police, he lost consciousness at the hands of someone and collapsed, plunging them into another crisis in their quest to uncover the truth. As a result, episode 13 of Black Out recorded an 8.6% nationwide rating and 8.2% in the metropolitan area, with the highest viewership rating per minute soaring to 9.8% (according to Nielsen Korea).

Go Jeong-woo met his friend Choi Na-gyeom (Go Bo-gyeol) after hearing that she had evidence that could clear him of all charges. However, this was merely a trap set by Choi Na-gyeom, whose obsession with Go Jeong-woo had reached its peak. She wanted to eliminate Ha-seol (Kim Bo-ra), who was by Go Jeong-woo’s side, and send him back to prison so he could only see her. Choi Na-gyeom, having taken the unconscious Go Jeong-woo to Ha-seol’s house, displayed her crazed obsession by saying, “You should just stay in your birdcage,” creating a chilling atmosphere. The kidnapping attempt was thwarted by Noh Sang-chul, who sensed something was amiss, but Choi Na-gyeom persisted until the end.

Particularly unsettling were the photos of Go Jeong-woo that filled Choi Na-gyeom’s graduation album, causing goosebumps among viewers. While speechless and looking through the album, Go Jeong-woo and Noh Sang-chul discovered a memory card attached to the back of one of the photos. The memory card contained an image of Park Hyung-sik murdering Park Da-eun, prompting Go Jeong-woo and Noh Sang-chul to devise a plan to catch the culprit.

Facing imminent imprisonment, Park Hyung-sik lost his composure and went wild in front of his wife, Ye Yeong-sil (Bae Jong-ok). As the Gyeonggi-do gubernatorial election approached, Ye Yeong-sil sought ways to cover up her husband’s crimes, but she struggled to find a viable solution. To complicate matters, news reports emerged about inappropriate transactions involving Choi Na-gyeom and Ye Yeong-sil, further diminishing Ye Yeong-sil’s approval rating.

Park Hyung-sik planned to discreetly take money and leave without informing his wife, instructing a patient to retrieve a bag of money from the director’s office. However, when the patient saw Go Jeong-woo suddenly appear, she ran away in a panic. Observing the mysterious bag of money left in the director’s office, Go Jeong-woo realized Park Hyung-sik’s plan and suggested a meeting, offering to return the bag in exchange for a conversation. With no other options, Park Hyung-sik accepted, and it appeared the two would finally meet.

However, an ominous atmosphere settled when Park Hyung-sik, waiting for Go Jeong-woo, suddenly lost consciousness at the hands of a mysterious assailant. The attacker left a note and manipulated the scene to make it look like Park Hyung-sik had made an extreme choice out of guilt, foreshadowing another difficult situation in the ongoing investigation.

Go Jeong-woo, discovering a car filled with smoke, quickly rescued Park Hyung-sik, but he was at a crossroads between life and death. Episode 13 of Black Out concluded with Go Jeong-woo’s desperate cry upon losing an important person while searching for the truth behind the murder case from 11 years ago. With the crucial piece of evidence gone, viewers are left wondering whether Go Jeong-woo will be able to reveal the truth and prove his innocence.

MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama Black Out, which continues Byun Yo-han’s desperate fight to clear the shame of false accusations that ruined his life, will air its final episode on October 4 (Friday) at 9:50 PM.
