In 2017, BTS set a new record with the album Love Yourself: Her by selling over 1.2 million copies in the month of its release. At that time, it was the most number of albums sold in 16 years.
BTS continued to set records with the release of the album MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA. It became the first album to achieve a triple million certification in Gaon Chart, having sold over 3 million copies in under two months.
