Black Out kdrama – Episode 9 Recap and Spoilers.

In ‘Black Out,’ Byun Yo-han Uncovers Clues That Could Transform the Murder Investigation. In Episode 9 of MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama ‘Black Out’, which aired on the 13th, Go Jeong-woo (played by Byun Yo-han) and Noh Sang-chul (played by Go Joon) continue their relentless quest to uncover the truth about the events from 11 years ago. The episode reveals fractures in the previously tight-knit community as the townspeople gradually expose their true selves.

The episode achieved a nationwide viewership rating of 6.5% and 6.4% in the metropolitan area, peaking at 7.1% per minute, marking a five-week streak of rising ratings and setting new records for both overall and per-minute viewership (Nielsen Korea).

As Hyun Gun-oh (played by Lee Ga-seop) succumbs to his guilt and makes a drastic decision, his father Hyun Goo-tak (played by Kwon Hae-hyo) loses his composure and begins to act erratically. Hyun Gun-oh’s suicide note, which includes a cryptic request for a confession and a statement, “Father was also in the warehouse that day,” intensifies viewers’ curiosity about Hyun Goo-tak’s alibi.

Upon learning of Hyun Gun-oh’s death from Noh Sang-chul, Go Jeong-woo is once again overwhelmed with grief and emptiness over the loss of his friend. Meanwhile, Yang Byeong-moo (played by Lee Tae-goo) and Shin Min-soo (played by Lee Woo-je), who had previously harmed Sim Bo-young, are released without detention. With a crucial witness from 11 years ago now deceased, Sim Bo-young’s chances of clearing her name are diminishing.

Determined to make progress, Go Jeong-woo and Noh Sang-chul focus on unearthing new clues by revisiting the past incident. They investigate the possibility of an accomplice who might have driven Go Jeong-woo’s car, as well as the whereabouts of a bracelet worn by Shim Bo-young, leading to various speculations.

Go Jeong-woo recalls a traffic accident mentioned by the investigating detective, Kim Hee-do (Jang Won-young). Kim Hee-do had reported that a drunk Go Jeong-woo drove to dispose of the body and caused an accident at the village entrance. However, the absence of accident photos in the evidence raises Go Jeong-woo’s suspicions, prompting him to delve deeper into the identity of the driver.

Meanwhile, Shin Min-soo, under pressure from Hyun Goo-tak, accuses Yang Byeong-moo of being the real culprit, causing the situation to take an unexpected twist. Yang Byeong-moo, while being taken away by the police, suddenly claims, “Choi Na-kyum planned this all,” adding another layer of intrigue. When Go Jeong-woo visits Choi Na-kyum (played by Go Bo-gyeol) to uncover the truth, he finds that Na-kyum not only was not present at the warehouse but also claims that Yang Byeong-moo was threatening him, further complicating matters.

The plot thickens as it emerges that Choi Na-kyum was indeed at the crime scene 11 years ago. With each new revelation, the mystery deepens about Choi Na-kyum’s true role and whether Hyun Goo-tak was truly present at the scene, as suggested by Hyun Gun-oh’s will.

Episode 10 will not air because of the Chuseok holidays. The drama will resume the following week.
