Eric Nam Just Revealed His Daily Routine & It’s Surprisingly Relatable

Eric Nam recently revealed his daily routine to Vanity Fair. Despite most of us coming from completely different worlds to a K-Pop star, Eric’s day is surprisingly relatable.

On a typical day, Eric Nam doesn’t get out of bed until around 10:00 a.m.—something you can probably relate to if you’re off of school or work during the pandemic.

And, like many of us, he needs the loudest, most aggressive alarm to actually wake him up.

I use the alarm tone that is like Apocalypse Now… it’s the immediate heart attack as soon as you wake up.

And even then, he still snoozes his alarm 5 to 10 times before actually getting out of bed! We’ve all been there.

If you check your phone the moment you wake up, you’re not alone. Eric does the same thing. Just like you scroll through your feed to catch up on K-Pop news that happened while you were sleeping, Eric catches up on what’s been happening in Los Angeles.

When Eric heads to his bathroom to shower (“shampoo your hair, body wash, face wash”), he says he’s usually shocked by how he looks. The only thing he should be shocked by is just how handsome he is.

Nobody looks good getting out of bed. When you get out of bed, you are swollen, you are bloated… I look like a Sesame Street character in real life when I wake up.

Even someone like Eric Nam doesn’t have effortless perfect skin. Just like everyone else, he needs a great skincare routine to keep his face looking its best. After shaving, he uses toner, essence, serum, eye cream, moisturizer, and sunblock.

Then it’s time to get dressed, and what better to wear than something comfortable? Eric has had some great style moments, but he says he usually wears comfortable sweatpants, a hoodie, and Nike sneakers.

While he’s getting dressed, he either listens to music or podcasts—fitting for a singer with two of his own podcasts, K-Pop Daebak and I Think You’re Dope.

Eric is also one of the many people who needs caffeine to get himself going in the morning. Depending on how much time he has, he either goes for an espresso or French press coffee.

If he has time for breakfast, he goes for something simple—often oatmeal with whatever frozen berries he has to hand.

The rest of Eric’s day is taken up by things most of us can’t relate to—hair and make-up, photoshoots, recording songs, editing podcasts, and more.

A K-Pop artist’s work is never done, because even after all that, Eric still heads to the dance studio at around 10:00 p.m. On a short day, he spends 2 hours there, but sometimes he doesn’t leave until 1:00 a.m.

Before he heads to bed, he grabs a bite to eat and something to drink. Often, he’ll go for Korean favorite chimaek—chicken and beer.

Once he’s finally home at around 3:00 a.m., he drinks water, lights candles, showers off all his makeup, and does his skincare routine. By the time he gets into bed, it’s usually around 4:30 a.m.

But whose night is complete without scrolling through social media and watching a little Netflix? Certainly not Eric’s, since he just got a TV in his room. That’s definitely something a bad habit many people can relate to.
