Thus, EXO-Ls were quick to conclude that EXO was long-planned in 2006, even before other K-pop groups of SM Entertainment debuted.

When the news spread throughout fans, some EXO-Ls started giving their explanations and theories about EXO.

According to the compiled theory from various social media platforms and news outlet (e.g., pann, Koreaboo, allkpop forum), EXO being a 12-member group and debuting on April 8 is neither just hastily planned nor ordinary numbers.

According to fans, EXO’s concept started when Lee Soo Man, the founder of SM Entertainment, got the idea of the K-pop group when the South Korean military responded to 12 UFOs seen in Seoul. During the appearance of the unidentified flying objects, Lee Soo Man was interrupted on hosting a show to report the news about the mysterious objects.

EXO then debuted on April 8, 2012, and brace yourself to freeze on your spot now!

On the fans’ theories, April is the fourth month of the year; “4” represents the four Chinese liners including, Luhan, Lay, Kris, and Tao. Meanwhile, “8” stands for the eight Korean members including Xiumin, Suho, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, D.O, Kai and Sehun. 12 was the sum of 4 and 8, representing the members.

However, if you think that is it, ask yourself again if how many UFOs were spotted in Seoul—yes, it is 12!

Furthermore, on April 8, 2024, on the 12th anniversary of EXO, a solar eclipse will take place according to NASA, and what’s more interesting? Twelve constellations are said to be spotted plus NASA’s lunar expedition will take place on the same year!

In 2019, NASA opened for submission for songs to be played and after drawing 200 songs to be played during the mission, EXO’s songs including “Universe” and “Moonlight” were picked!
