The lively daily life of the ‘prefabricated family’ is set to begin.

JTBC’s new Wednesday drama Family By Choice, premiering at 8:50 PM on October 9, has unveiled a second teaser video showcasing the unique dynamics of a family that stands out from the norm. This latest teaser offers a glimpse into the everyday life of a family comprised of two fathers and three children, all living together despite not being related by blood. They share a home, meals, and heartfelt connections within their own special family unit.

In the video, we see Hwang In-yeop (Kim San-ha), Jung Chae-yeon (Yoon Joo-won), and Bae Hyun-seong (Kang Hae-joon) preparing for school while their father, Choi Won-young (Yoon Jung-jae), is busy cooking. Their interactions resemble those of real siblings, reflecting a natural and affectionate family bond. The loving gaze of Choi Won-young as he serves his children, filling their bowls with food, adds a warm and nurturing atmosphere to the scene.

The teaser also highlights the amusing moments between the fathers left at home while the children are at school. Another father, Choi Moo-sung (Kim Dae-wook), is seen humorously reacting to the relentless nagging from Choi Won-young, which he doles out to all family members. The eldest son, Hwang In-yeop, also plays a role in managing his younger siblings, further showcasing the endearing and chaotic nature of their family life. Despite occasional quirks and misunderstandings, the family members come together with a deep sense of unity and care, culminating in a heartwarming dinner scene where they share a meal.

Jung Chae-yeon’s remark, “Where is there a house without a story? Each of us is special in our own way,” teases the intriguing backstory of this family. It hints at the reasons behind their unique bond and their journey together, underscoring their belief in their special connection despite what others might think.

Family By Choice is a romantic drama that explores the inseparable bond between two fathers and three children who have been a family for 10 years, despite their initial estrangement. The series will air twice consecutively on JTBC starting October 9. It will also be available to global audiences via Viu in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa; U-Next in Japan; and Rakuten Viki in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Oceania, and India.
