Actress Jung Chae-yeon is setting the stage for the delightful ‘Juwon-like Thinking’ trend with her latest role.

The new JTBC Wednesday drama Family By Choice, premiering at 8:50 PM on October 9, tells the story of three young adults who have lived as a family for a decade and now reconnect after a decade apart.

Jung Chae-yeon stars as Yoon Joo-won, a daughter cherished by her father Choi Won-young (Yoon Jung-jae), who runs a kalguksu restaurant. Her character is bright, affectionate, and deeply connected to her makeshift family—her father, the man upstairs Choi Moo-sung (Kim Dae-wook), his son Hwang In-yeop (Kim San-ha), and Bae Hyeon-seong (Kang Hae-joon).

Jung Chae-yeon brings to life Joo-won’s charming personality, marked by her ability to shake off troubles and spread joy. Rather than focusing on grand ambitions, Joo-won’s ‘Juwon-like thinking’ emphasizes the value of the present and finding happiness in everyday moments, much like savoring a sweet cake.

In a self-introduction that highlights her character’s endearing qualities, Jung Chae-yeon describes Yoon Joo-won as someone who values family deeply, stating, “We are a family thicker than blood.” She playfully identifies her role in the household as ‘laughter,’ ‘peace,’ and ‘guardian of happiness,’ showing her affection for her two on-screen brothers, Kim San-ha and Kang Hae-joon, with hashtags like #KimSanHa and #KangHaeJoon.

The promotional photos capture Jung Chae-yeon’s vibrant and heartwarming portrayal of Yoon Joo-won, featuring her infectious smile and youthful charm, further heightening anticipation for Family By Choice.

The drama will air two consecutive episodes starting on October 9 and will be available in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa via Viu, in Japan through U-Next, and in the Americas, Europe, Oceania, and India through Rakuten Viki.
