Lee Min-ho and Kim Go-eun’s upcoming drama “The King: Eternal Monarch” starts streaming this week. We couldn’t be any more excited. But before it starts, let’s have a quick review
Friday is D-day
The Netflix Original drama drops on April 17, 10:30 pm. It will be streamed twice a week, every Friday and Saturday. Enjoy drama camping!
‘Goblin’ writer is its creator
Kim Eun-sook penned this drama. She is the rockstar writer who came up with hit dramas such as “Lovers in Paris,” “Secret Garden,” “A Gentleman’s Dignity,” “Descendants of the Sun,” and “Mr. Sunshine.”
She also wrote “The Heirs/Inheritors” that starred Min-ho and Park Shin-hye. She was also behind the success of “Goblin” starring Gong-Yoo and Go-eun. This drama will reunite her with the two stars she previously worked with.
Kim Go-eun is Eun-tak no more
“Goblin” ended three years ago. Kim Go-eun is ready to stop being Eun-tak and become Jung Tae-eul/Luna. She will play a detective in our universe who will meat a prince who came from another universe.
Four-year wait for Lee Min-ho
We waited four years for a new drama from Lee Min-ho. The last drama he was in, he played opposite Jun Ji-hyun in “Legend of the Blue Sea.” He did his military service and took his time choosing the next drama he’ll be in after his discharge. He will play a king in a parallel universe.
With a rock star writer, “The King: Eternal Monarch” is expected to be very good.
