Good Partner kdrama – Episode 15 Recap and Spoilers.
Jang Na-ra and Nam Ji-hyun of Good Partner clashed over a manuscript at their client’s request.
In the September 14th episode of SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama Good Partner (written by Choi Yoo-na and directed by Kim Ga-ram), Cha Eun-kyung (Jang Na-ra) and Han Yoo-ri (Nam Ji-hyun) faced off as opposing lawyers in a divorce case.
During the episode, Cha Eun-kyung and Han Yoo-ri consulted with their clients, Choi Jin-hyuk (Lee Tae-sung) and Lee Sung-hee (Shin So-yul). Both lawyers were adamant, stating, “We will definitely sue.” Despite suggestions to settle the case amicably, given there were no children involved, they insisted, “We will present all the unfairness to the judge. It’s unjust to proceed with a divorce when the other party doesn’t even acknowledge their faults. Please file the complaint, and be sure to file it first.”
Thus, the two engaged in a fierce ‘manuscript battle’ as per their client’s wishes. After work, Han Yoo-ri visited Cha Eun-kyung, and they shared a meal. Han Yoo-ri revealed, “I had a special client today who asked me to file a complaint within the last hour. I filed it without catching my breath.”
Cha Eun-kyung nodded and replied, “I experienced the same. It’s now a race to see who can file the divorce complaint first. The client must be frustrated being labeled the defendant when she did nothing wrong. The battle over the plaintiff is intense.”
During their downtime, they discussed their personal lives over tteokbokki. Cha Eun-kyung expressed satisfaction with her life after divorce, prompting Han Yoo-ri to ask, “Why did someone who likes being alone get married?” Cha Eun-kyung explained, “Everyone thinks I married the right person at the right time, but that wasn’t the case,” and Han Yoo-ri wondered if the marriage was sudden.
Cha Eun-kyung admitted, “It was sudden. I didn’t need to date for a long time,” and Han Yoo-ri questioned, “Is time money or life?”
Cha Eun-kyung surprised Han Yoo-ri with her candid answer, “Because I liked him so much.” Reflecting on the past, Cha Eun-kyung said, “I liked him so much that I missed him when he wasn’t around. I couldn’t live without him, even though I enjoyed being alone.”
Cha Eun-kyung continued, “I would make the same choice if I could go back. He was irreplaceable, and thanks to him, I have my daughter Jae-hui (Yuna).”
Cha Eun-kyung’s heartfelt revelation about her ex-husband Kim Ji-sang (Ji Seung-hyun) caught viewers’ attention, as it unveiled a side of her previously seen as cold. Jang Na-ra’s nuanced expressions added depth to the portrayal.
The following day, Lee Sung-hee approached Cha Eun-kyung, upset, “Is it right that I’m the defendant? The one who did wrong should be the defendant. It feels so unfair.”
Meanwhile, Cha Eun-kyung proposed a settlement to Han Yoo-ri, but Han Yoo-ri refused, stating, “The client doesn’t want an agreement.” Cha Eun-kyung admired Han Yoo-ri’s growth, acknowledging, “You’ve grown a lot.”
The estranged couple later met again, as suggested by Cha Eun-kyung and Han Yoo-ri. It turned out the husband had not wanted children due to financial concerns, while the wife had quit her job to have a child. Their differing views on having a child led to their decision to divorce.
In another development, Jung Woo-jin (Kim Jun-han) informed everyone on the resignation of Jeon Eun-ho (P.O.). Following this, Jeon Eun-ho visited Cha Eun-kyung’s Spring Again office, where she had previously made a scouting offer. Jeon Eun-ho showcased his exceptional sales skills, but frustrating Cha Eun-kyung with the unresolved tension between him and Han Yoo-ri. She remarked, “You’re both so skilled at your jobs, yet you can’t address your own feelings?” Jung Woo-jin also expressed frustration.
Arrangements were made for Jeon Eun-ho and Han Yoo-ri to meet. Realizing her own feelings, Han Yoo-ri ran to Jeon Eun-ho and embraced him, confessing, “I’ll be the one to confess this time. Let’s give this a try.”
