Given how much TXT has already achieved, it’s hard to believe a whole year has already passed since March 4 2019—the day they debuted with “Crown”. In just 366 days, the group has already racked up too many incredible feats to count. Let’s look at 5 of the most impressive achievements in honor of TXT’s 5 amazing members celebrating their 1st anniversary together.

1. Rookie Grand Slam crown

When TXT received the prestigious New Artist Award at the Seoul Music Awards (SMA) in January, they made history as one of only five groups to receive Rookie Grand Slam status. The title is honorarily awarded to the few groups which have swept “Rookie of the Year” at all five major awards shows—the Seoul Music Awards (SMA), MelOn Music Awards (MMA), Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), Golden Disk Awards (GDA), and Gaon Chart Music Awards.

Of course, these weren’t the only rookie trophies TXT received—the SMA win was actually the group’s 11th ROTY award. This makes them the boy group with the second most “Rookie of the Year” prizes in history after Stray Kids.

2. Over half a million albums sold

Many groups take years to reach half a million album sales, and some never reach that milestone at all. TXT, on the other hand, hit it in less than a year. By the end of January 2020, the group had surpassed 500,000 sales across Gaon and Oricon.

TXT sold over 400,000 Korean albums and over 100,000 Japanese albums on the charts. What’s really impressive is that this figure doesn’t even include all the albums TXT has sold in the U.S. and beyond.

3. Certified Gold in Japan

Speaking of TXT’s success in Japan, the group has been a major hit there since their debut Japanese album, Magic Hour. Despite featuring just 3 songs, Magic Hour sold enough copies to receive RIAJ Gold Certification in Japan.

Of course, the album’s success isn’t surprising given that TXT spent 75 hours at #1 on LINE Music Japan and topped the Tower Records weekly chart. Magic Hour even became the best-selling rookie album in the country, selling over 50,000 albums on the first day of release.

4. Fastest K-Pop group to chart on Billboard

TXT’s whirlwind success isn’t just limited to Asia—they’ve been racking up achievements in the U.S. all year too. When they released The Dream Chapter: STAR, they became the only rookie group of the year to debut on the Billboard 200. The album hit #140 with 7,000 sales in its first week.

On top of that, The Dream Chapter: STAR became the fastest K-Pop album to reach the chart, debuting on the Billboard 200 just 3 days after its release.

5. Sold out U.S. showcase

Selling out a U.S. tour would be a major achievement for even the most established of artists, so it’s even more impressive that TXT managed it in their first year.

The TOMORROW x TOGETHER Showcase: Star in US tour sold a staggering 16,000 tickets across 6 U.S. cities, with some dates reportedly selling out in just minutes.
