Jeon Do-yeon makes headlines in Crash Course in Romance

A new poster has dropped for tvN’s upcoming Crash Course in Romance, splashing our famed leads Jeon Do-yeon (Human Disqualification) and Jung Kyung-ho (Hospital Playlist 2) on the front page and center.
Once a national athlete for women’s handball in South Korea, Nam Haeng-sun (Jeon Do-yeon) is now the owner of a banchan (side dish) shop and is just dipping her toes into the competitive world of private education.
Although we haven’t yet been told the how or why, this leads Haeng-sun to meet the immensely popular math instructor Choi Chi-yeol (Jung Kyung-ho) and cue the sparks of love. I expect we’ll get some bickering and hijinks as well, to which I say, the more the merrier!
The poster’s tagline promises a bittersweet romance scandal while hitting the nail on a classic rom-com trope – describing our heroine as the one math problem that our hero cannot solve.
With the pairing of Jeon Do-yeon and Jung Kyung-ho, there was no way I wouldn’t be tuning in. But the rom-com also boasts a talented supporting cast which includes, among many others, Shin Jae-ha (My Unfamiliar Family) as Chi-yeol’s devoted right hand man and Roh Yoon-seo (Our Blues) as Haeng-sun’s daughter.
We also have Lee Bong-ryun (Narco-Saints) as Haeng-sun’s athlete bestie, while Jang Young-nam (Cheer Up), Kim Sun-young (Stock Struck), and Hwang Bora (Kiss Sixth Sense) could become friends or foes as fellow moms who are each looking out for their kids’ future.
Directed by PD Yoo Je-won (Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha) with scripts by Yang Hee-seung (Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-ju), Crash Course in Romance has confirmed a January 14 premiere, broadcasting in tvN’s weekend slot.
