Jeon Jong-seo must say I do in Wedding Impossible
by lovepark
A contract marriage, chaebol succession, and a meddlesome brother-in-law sound like a recipe for a high-octane makjang, but tvN’s Wedding Impossible flips the script with a dose of humor. Starring Jeon Jong-seo (Bargain) as the bride-to-be and Moon Sang-min as her future brother-in-law, the upcoming rom-com depicts two leads with opposing missions and the ensuing hilarity that comes from their clash.
Jeon Jong-seo plays struggling actor Na Ah-jung who lands her first lead role: act as the partner to her longtime friend Kim Do-wan (Doona). Alas, younger brother Lee Ji-han (Moon Sang-min) opposes the union since it ruins his plans. Ji-han’s goal is to make his brother the successor to their family’s conglomerate, but this wedding would destroy all his hard work.
The poster for the show emphasizes the two lead’s “impossible mission” with one side being Ah-jung who must see this wedding through, and on the other is Ji-han who will try to stop it. Playing on the spy film pun, the characters are also dressed with ulterior motives with Ah-jung dressed in typical wedding attire including a tiara and veil, but underneath her dress, she wears red socks, a thigh holster, and leather boots. As for Ji-han, he’s in a dark suit with a gun in his hand, and I assume he prefers his martinis shaken, not stirred.

The latest teaser continues with these themes of weddings and missions as it opens to “Wedding March” only to abruptly cut off the music. As Ah-jung turns around, she accepts the contract marriage, and in return, she receives a suitcase filled with cash and a large diamond ring. She puts on makeup, straps up her boots, dons her leather gloves, and to top it off, wears her tiara. Thus begins our no-name actor’s greatest performance.
Directed by PD Kwon Young-il (Doom at Your Service, My Unfamiliar Family) with scripts by Park Seul-gi (Poong the Joseon Psychiatrist) and Oh Hye-won, tvN’s Wedding Impossible is slated for twelve episodes and will premiere on February 26 in the Monday-Tuesday slot.
