Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born kdrama – Episode 3 Recap and Spoilers.

tvN’s new Sat-Sun drama ‘Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born’ Kim Tae-ri successfully performed the performance with her performance of the possessed ‘Bangja’ that made the audience go crazy while performing on her first-ever national musical stage, showing off her sparkling genius.

In episode 3 of tvN’s new Sat-Sun drama ‘Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born’ that aired on the 19th, the main character Jeong Nyeon (Kim Tae-ri) struggles to digest the main role of ‘Bangja’ in ‘Chunhyangjeon’, the stage of her final battle and her first national musical stage, in order to get rid of thethat she entered Maeran without any skills by riding on the ‘Prince of Maeran’ Moon Ok-kyung (Jung Eun-chae).

Along with this, ‘Jeongnyeon’ Episode 3 broke its own highest viewership ratings yet again with an average of 9.2% for households nationwide, a peak of 11.0%, an average of 8.9% for households in the metropolitan area, and a peak of 10.7%, proving the unstoppable ‘Jeongnyeon craze’ by taking first place in the same time slot across all channels including terrestrial channels. (Based on Nielsen Korea’s paid platform)

Jeongnyeon, who is in a situation where she can only continue her miserable life if she gets her hands on the ‘regular performance audition script’ due to a bet with her fellow research student Cho Rook (Hyun Seung-hee), is momentarily swayed by Ok-kyung’s offer to take the easy way out by separately handing her the ‘regular performance audition script’, but she politely declines and chooses the orthodox approach.

And soon enough, Jeongnyeon finds a hint towards ‘her own self-indulgence’. Jeongnyeon saw everyone burst into laughter at the sight of Cho-rok tripping over a broom while sweeping the yard of the national theater troupe and saying, “Someone who can constantly make people laugh while controlling the audience’s reactions at will. That’s the clown of ‘Chunhyangjeon,’ Bang-ja,” and kicked the national theater troupe out. After that, he lived in seclusion in Mae-ran, arousing everyone’s curiosity.

Jeongnyeon didn’t show up until the day before the performance. When Hye-rang (Kim Yoon-hye) heard the news, she went to see Yeong-seo (Shin Ye-eun), who was leading the student performance, and asked if she was trying to ruin the performance that was being held under the name of the ‘Mae-ran National Theater Troupe.’ Yeong-seo boasted that she had no intention of ruining the performance and that she would play two roles, not only Mong-ryong Lee but also Bang-ja. And Yeong-seo proved that Hye-rang’s worries were unfounded by perfectly performing the two roles.

The day of the final charity performance for the students finally dawned, but Jeongnyeon did not show up until 40 minutes before the performance was scheduled to begin. At the moment when the anxiety of the other students, except for Yeong-seo, reached its peak, Jeongnyeon kicked open the dressing room door and bowed at a 90-degree angle to apologize. Then, when Joo-ran (Woo Da-bi) was curious about what had happened, she said something incomprehensible, “I was late because I was looking for a roommate,” which made people even more curious.

The performance began, and Yeong-seo appeared on stage with confidence. On the other hand, Jeongnyeon, who seemed very nervous before her first line, quickly immersed herself in her character with a scary energy and successfully captured the audience’s attention with her humorous acting, just like the main character, Lee Mong-ryong. Behind Jeongnyeon’s transformation, which seemed to have awakened her eyes to acting, there was an effort that no one knew about. Earlier, when Joo-ran and I went to the market to change our mood, we thought that the talent of the mask dancer we saw resembled the Bangja we were looking for, so we followed the mask dancer around for a week and learned from his talent of making everyone around us laugh with just one gesture.

Even in a situation where Jeongnyeon was in control, Yeong-seo maintained her composure and showed off her presence and skills, and Jeongnyeon watched this scene from behind the stage in rapture. Jeongnyeon and Yeong-seo were each other’s stimuli as they shared the stage. In the midst of this, Jeongnyeon was faced with a crisis. The green gang, jealous of Jeongnyeon receiving all the love from the audience, broke Bangja’s prop, a wooden cane, in advance. Yeong-seo, who sensed something strange, warned Jeongnyeon to be careful, but Jeongnyeon had no way of knowing.

And Jeongnyeon fell on stage because of the broken cane in the middle of an important emotional scene. When the flow of the performance was completely interrupted, Yeong-seo, unable to stand it any longer, tried to lighten the mood with ad-lib. At that moment, Jeongnyeon regained her concentration and overcame the audience with her tearful performance. Jeongnyeon, who eventually finished the performance safely, received the audition script for the regular performance from So-bok (Ra Mi-ran) and succeeded in gaining recognition for her skills. However, Yeong-seo shattered Jeongnyeon’s sweet dream and said, “You really think you did well on stage today? Don’t get me wrong. I adjusted to you because I didn’t want to ruin the stage,” deepening the conflict between the two.

Jeongnyeon’s acting also caused a small commotion between Ok-kyung and Hye-rang. When Ok-kyung expressed interest by saying, “Maybe Yoon Jeongnyeon will become a greater actress than I imagined,” Hye-rang, who was repulsed, took a confrontational stance by praising Yeong-seo’s skills even more. Ok-kyung pointed out Yeong-seo’s limitations and questioned why Hye-rang ignored Yeong-seo’s limitations and supported her. Hye-rang also predicted that Ok-kyung was ignoring Jeongnyeon’s fatal flaw and that “what everyone thought was Jeongnyeon’s strength in today’s performance will become a chain that holds Jeongnyeon back. I guarantee that Jeongnyeon will destroy herself in the next performance,” raising curiosity and tension.

Then one day, an incident occurred. Joo-ran was in danger of being kicked out of the teahouse where she had been secretly working to pay for her sick sister’s medicine because her arm was injured. Jeongnyeon offered to work in Joo-ran’s place until she recovered, but things got really messy. The teahouse owner, who found out that Jeongnyeon was a member of Mae-ran, tried to put Jeongnyeon on the teahouse stage. Jeongnyeon strongly refused, as So-bok had threatened to “not sell her music outside Mae-ran,” but the teahouse owner pressured her, saying that he would fire her. Jeongnyeon cried and sang, and was noticed by Park Jong-guk (Kim Tae-hoon), a broadcasting station PD, and singer Patricia (Lee Mi-do), who happened to be there at the same time. Furthermore, Jong-guk even offered to scout Jeongnyeon, saying that he wanted to make her a star. As if this unintentional violation of Mae-ran’s principles was not enough, curiosity is rising about what will happen to Jeongnyeon, the ‘Nangjungjichu’ who has become the center of attention of everyone.

Meanwhile, a surprising fact was revealed at the end of the play. It turns out that Jeongnyeon’s mother Yongrye (played by Moon Sori), who had been against her singing career, was actually Chae Gongseon, a former pansori genius. Yongrye, who had come to Maeran Gukgeuk Troupe to find Jeongnyeon, who had left Mokpo without saying a word, grabbed Jeongnyeon’s hand and dragged her along, eventually confessing that she had also walked the path of a pansori singer. Witnessing this scuffle, Sobok approached Yongrye and greeted her, saying, “It’s been a while, Gongseon,” and Jeongnyeon couldn’t help but be surprised. Curiosity is growing as to why Yongrye opposed Jeongnyeon’s singing career and what the past was that made her abandon the name ‘Chae Gongseon’.

Jeongnyeon’ is a drama that depicts the competition, solidarity, and brilliant growth period surrounding Jeongnyeon, a ‘natural singing genius’ who challenges herself to become the best gukgeuk actress after the Korean War in the 1950s. Episode 4 will air tonight (the 20th) at 9:20 p.m.
