Jo Seung-woo is an oddball lawyer in Divorce Attorney Shin

The third teaser for Divorce Attorney Shin has been released, spotlighting our crackhead lead Jo Seung-woo (Sisyphus) and his unconventional life as a lawyer.

The plot revolves around our hero Shin Sung-han (Jo Seung-woo) who used to be a big shot pianist overseas but, in a move akin to a mid-life crisis, is now back in Korea working as a divorce lawyer. His small office is a far cry from his former high-rolling life, but not to worry, his two best friends Kim Sung-kyun (Grid) and Jung Moon-sung (The Good Detective 2) won’t leave his side… because they both moved their offices to work in his building.

But it’s not all play for our lawyer, not when he has the famous radio DJ Lee Seo-jin — played by Han Hye-jin (Let’s Hold Hands and Watch the Sunset) — as his client. She’s wrapped up in a cheating scandal and needs Sung-han to represent her against her abusive husband in the divorce proceedings. If he’s going to protect Seo-jin’s bag from the messiness of the courtroom, Sung-han will need to step up his game.

The teaser opens with Sung-han’s neighbors spotting him and his friends throwing a karaoke drinking party and gossiping amongst themselves, “Isn’t he supposed to be a lawyer?” “It’s because he’s still single.”

Then we see Seo-jin visit Sung-han’s office, saying she came because she heard he specializes in divorce and wants to do a “good job” at divorcing.

We’re then given some voiceover acknowledgement of the absurdity of the situation as Sung-han’s two friends ask themselves, “He’s using his piano brain to practice law? Is that remarkable or dumb?” We also get a shot of Sung-han responding to someone asking him what he’s doing back in Korea. Is he teaching? Performing? “I’m practicing law.”

Granted, the circumstances are highly unusual, but it looks like we can trust Sung-han’s knack for lawyering as he seriously tells someone over the phone, “Let’s take this to trial.”

Written by Yoo Young-ah (Thirty-Nine, Boyfriend) and directed by Lee Jae-hoon (Run-On, Chief Kim), JTBC’s Divorce Attorney Shin will premiere March 4.
