Jung Kyung-ho gives a Crash Course in Romance

tvN’s upcoming rom-com Crash Course in Romance has its leads literally crashing into each other as a first introduction, and if the second teaser is anything to go by, we’re in for an amusing ride.

Jeon Do-yeon (Human Disqualification) stars as former national handball athlete Nam Haeng-sun, who currently runs a shop selling banchan (side dishes). She’s the type to put her all into anything she does, which means that when she decides to sign her daughter up for tutoring, the natural choice is the best of the best.

That’s the acclaimed academy instructor Choi Chi-yeol, played by Jung Kyung-ho (Hospital Playlist 2). Not only does he get swarmed by a flock of eager students, but Haeng-sun also describes him as “the BTS of the private education industry” — demonstrated by a suave choreography performed by a sharply-dressed Chi-yeol, heh.

And so, our leads keep running into each other in a series of coincidental encounters. Haeng-sun gets drenched when Chi-yeol drives past her and straight through a puddle — but karma makes quick work of Chi-yeol’s blasé apology, because he too gets a free shower when he runs up to Haeng-sun’s shop just as she’s tossing a bucket of water out. Ha, these two are going to be hilarious, aren’t they?

The teaser may describe our pair’s romance as a bittersweet one, but it certainly ends on an adorable note. As Chi-yeol walks through Haeng-sun’s shop, he confesses, “You know I really like [you], right?” Except he doesn’t clarify who or what exactly he’s talking about, resulting in a very flustered Haeng-sun.

Directed by Yoo Je-won (Hometown Cha Cha Cha) with scripts written by Yang Hee-seung (Familiar Wife) and Yeo Eun-ho, Crash Course in Romance is slated to premiere on January 14.
