Kim Tae-ri is demon-possessed in Revenant teaser
by Jenzy
Anyone up for a scary summer flick? The first full teaser for SBS’s occult drama Revenant starring Kim Tae-ri (Twenty-Five Twenty-One) and Oh Jung-se (Little Women) has dropped and it sets the stage for the thrilling dynamics between our demon-possessed lead and a literature professor who sees the demon within her.
Kim Tae-ri’s character Gu San-young is a busybody who works a part-time job while studying to become a civil servant. However, one day when she receives some trinkets from her late father, she becomes possessed by a demon from another world. As she starts to see her control slip and unexplainable murders unfold around her, she (most understandably) begins to freak out.
The only person that believes that she isn’t actually going insane is Oh Jung-se’s character Yeom Hae-sang. He’s a literature professor with a focus in folklore, and he’s had the ability to see demons his whole life. When he runs into San-young, he not only sees the demon inside her, but also recognizes it as the same one that killed his mom as a child. Together, they’ll try to stop the string of murders that follow San-young and save humanity from full on demonic control.
Also in the main cast we have Hong Kyung (Weak Hero Class 1) playing Lee Hong-sae, a violent crimes officer who’s tasked with investigating the mysterious murders.

The teaser opens on San-young and Hae-sang looking at things off camera with looks of foreboding, and San-young picking up what looks like a Joseon-era headpiece. We then see disconnected shots of San-young looking confused, frantically running into a police station, and even getting yanked along a hallway by an invisible force. It looks like it will be a fight for control between her and whatever wants to take over her body. In the voiceover, San-young narrates, “There’s a door that leads to another world. And when you open that door, you run into demons.”
With big names behind the production like writer Kim Eun-hee (Kingdom, Signal) and director Lee Jung-rim (V.I.P), we’re guaranteed to get a thrilling story with lots of skin crawling twists.
Revenant will premiere in SBS’s Friday-Saturday slot on June 23.
