Kim Young-dae and Park Joo-hyun crumble in Perfect Family

KBS has released a teaser for its upcoming thriller Perfect Family showcasing its younger cast members and the mystery that ties them together. At first, all seems well with our heroes as they laugh and play, but they will soon find out that their perfect day was simply a ruse covering a sinister secret.
Kim Young-dae (Moon in the Day) stars as high school student Park Kyung-ho, and he opens the teaser with a comment about friendship. He says that Indians define “friend” as one who shoulders your sadness with you. He looks especially close with one particular classmate, Choi Sun-hee played by Park Joo-hyun (The Forbidden Marriage), and the teaser shows them holding hands and taking pictures together.
However, the bright atmosphere turns dark as the scene cuts to a shadowy figure and then a bloody hand in an elevator. Another classmate Ji Hyun-woo, played by Lee Shi-woo (Boyhood), points out that things have started to misalign since the transfer student came to their school.

The said student is Lee Soo-yeon played by Choi Ye-bin (Night Has Come), and she messes with Sun-hee in little ways like pulling out her bun and placing matches on her desk. Soo-yeon even confronts Sun-hee in class and asks if she remembers.
Kyung-ho steps in, threatening Soo-yeon to leave Sun-hee alone, but his warnings don’t stop her. As their perfect days start to crumble, things begin to escalate as the students fight with each other and someone pushes Sun-hee into traffic. The teaser then ends on Soo-yeon as she ominously states, “It’s time to repay that debt.”
While not featured in the teaser, Kim Byung-chul (Doctor Cha) and Yoon Se-ah (Hierarchy) also star in the upcoming drama as Sun-hee’s parents. Directed by Japanese filmmaker Yukisada Isao (The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese), KBS’s Perfect Family is slated for twelve episodes and premieres August 14 in the Wednesday-Thursday slot.
