Instead of saving Shin Min-ah, who is under investigation for ‘workplace bullying’, Kim Young-dae made headlines with his marriage announcement.
In the tvN (internationally on Amazon Prime Video) Monday-Tuesday drama “No Gain No Love,” which aired on the 9th, Son Ha-young (played by Shin Min-ah) and Kim Ji-wook (played by Kim Young-dae) met as boss and new employee at the Honeybee Education center.
On this episode, Kim Ji-wook joined Honeybee Education and encountered Son Ha-young, who had a fake marriage, as his superior. When Son Ha-young saw Kim Ji-wook after a long time, she confronted him with, “Where have you been? Did you go to Canada? Why haven’t you answered my calls? I left countless messages. Are you laughing?” Kim Ji-wook replied, “Did the customer miss me too? Seems like you’re more curious about my disappearance than my presence.”
Son Ha-young, suspecting that Kim Ji-wook might have absconded with her money, challenged him, but Kim Ji-wook explained, “I didn’t go to Canada, and I avoided calls because I couldn’t tell them where I was or what I was doing. I didn’t want to lie.”
Later, Son Ha-young, along with several new employees, went to an outdoor briefing session and discovered a child suspected of abuse. As she took a photo of the child, the father appeared and protested. Son Ha-young expressed concern for the child’s safety and called the police. The child’s father then assaulted Son Ha-young. Kim Ji-wook intervened, fighting with the father and accompanying Son Ha-young to the police station for questioning.
While treating Kim Ji-wook’s injuries, Son Ha-young thanked him, “I’m grateful for saving me today, and even more so for taking a hit for me. What’s your secret to being good at fighting?” Kim Ji-wook responded, “You shouldn’t fear getting hit. You need to endure the pain.”
The case was later handled by the Honeybee Education Legal Team, and Bok Gi-ho (played by Choi Jin-ho) assigned Kim Ji-wook to the New Business Team led by Son Ha-young for media promotion.
Although Son Ha-young was initially embarrassed by Kim Ji-wook’s arrival, the employees organized a company dinner. Son Ha-young got drunk and Kim Ji-wook discreetly provided her with a hangover cure, asking, “Do you usually drink so much at company dinners?” Son Ha-young retorted, “It’s your fault. If you drink alcohol, your brain cells die faster, and if they die faster, you won’t remember me.” Kim Ji-wook said, “Why are you so anxious? No one knows yet. If you’re worried, just reveal it,” but Son Ha-young insisted, “I want to be Team Leader Son Ha-young at the company, not someone’s wife. You know what could happen if it gets out.”
Son Ha-young then expressed her frustration, “If you eat breakfast at the company, it’s because I’m incompetent. If you wear dirty clothes, it’s my fault. If you make a mistake, it’s because of me. You’re a time bomb that could explode at any moment. I’m a key person in a crucial department and shouldn’t be seen as managing a time bomb,” explaining why her marriage needed to remain secret.
The following day, Son Ha-young didn’t show up for work. Kwon I-rin from the HR team had taken her to the HR committee. Bok Gi-ho, who joined the new business team with Kim Ji-wook, misinterpreted Son Ha-young’s behavior as bullying and reported her. Kim Ji-wook rushed to support Son Ha-young.
At the personnel committee meeting, it seemed like Son Ha-young might be seen as a bully based on her comments to Kim Ji-wook. However, Kim Ji-wook intervened, stating, “I am Kim Ji-wook, a new employee of the New Business Team. I am not a victim; I am Team Leader Son Ha-young’s husband,” and held Son Ha-young’s hand.
