TWICE‘s Momo recently appeared at the Seoul Music Awards 2020, where she made headlines for her beauty and visuals at the red carpet.
But fans and netizens became enraged when reporters began to involve her boyfriend, Super Junior‘s Kim Heechul, in the titles for no good reason.
Multiple news outlets reported on Momo’s visuals but added Kim Heechul’s name in the title.
Netizens began to criticize the reporters, claiming the unnecessary harassment is the reason why idols try to keep their relationships a secret. Whenever they date publicly, they’re always linked to their significant others for unnecessary reasons.

Momo and Kim Heechul recently confirmed their relationship, admitting that they were first industry colleagues who started to have feelings for each other.
Solely because of their public announcement, Kim Heechul and Momo have suffered unnecessary comments and attention from the industry.
Hopefully, Korean reporters will begin to respect that Momo and Kim Heechul’s lives and careers are separate outside of their relationship.
