Lee Jung Jae (“Chief Of Staff”) is taking on the lead role in Netflix original Korean drama “Round Six” (or “Squid Games”). The Netflix kdrama will be directed by Hwang Dong Hyuk of award-winning films Silenced (2011) and The Fortress (2017).
“Round Six” which is a mystery Korean drama will be based on children’s games that were popular in Korea in the late 1900’s. The story will revolve around a group of people who have failed in life. One day they receive a mysterious invitation related to a survival game with a prize of up to 10 billion won.
One of the game is “Round Six” or “Squid Game” which has two teams in which one is a defender team and other is attacker. The defender team arrange themselves in a squid-shaped pattern and defends the attacker from entering the squid head.
Last September, it was announced that Korean-American actor and model, Daniel Henney, will also star in “Round Six”. He is best known for his work in films such as 2006’s Seducing Mr. Perfect, 2007’s My Father, 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine and 2014’s animated feature, Big Hero 6. His television includes the k-drama My Lovely Sam Soon as well as US television series Hawaii Five-0 and Criminal Minds for which he joined as a regular cast member in 2014.
“Round Six” is expected to release sometimes in 2020 on Netflix.
