Given all the trucks wreaking doom over the streets of dramaland, ENA has put together a special task force in Crash, with Lee Min-ki (Behind Your Touch) joining Kwak Sun-young (Moving) and Heo Sung-tae (Bait) in the comedy’s Traffic Crime Investigations (TCI) unit.
As Cha Yeon-ho, Lee Min-ki plays our story’s ~genius~ who graduated from the famed KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology) and bagged certifications from numerous fields that will prove to be asset in his new job with the TCI. But despite Yeon-ho’s lofty credentials, our hero is not without his quirks, lacking in social skills and – ironically – not being able to drive.
The TCI’s ace is Min So-hee, played by a confident and tenacious Kwak Sun-young, who is determined to solve every case she’s assigned. Being quick on her feet, experienced in combat, and a master behind the wheel, So-hee is sought after by many departments. But she stubbornly remains in traffic law for reasons we’re not yet allowed to know.
Leading the TCI is Heo Sung-tae in the role of Jung Chae-man, an eloquent bookworm and veteran detective hailing from the violent crimes unit. Upon discovering the surge in traffic crimes and the lack of a proper investigations system, Chae-man carefully pioneered the TCI like choosing gemstones and built it into a diamond-solid team.
Lee Ho-chul’s (Like Flowers in Sand) skittish Woo Dong-ki is not much help when confronting a felon as he’s basically scared of his own shadow. But he impresses Chae-man with his expertise in motor vehicles, down to obscure details like engine sounds and silhouettes. Dong-ki is thus appointed as special police and the car specialist on the TCI.
Rounding out the team, Moon-hee (Duty After School) takes on the character of Eo Hyun-kyung, who was transferred in by So-hee. Although the TCI’s maknae, Hyun-kyung can hold her own better than the others, having taekwondo, judo, and boxing under her belt – in addition to other martial arts.
Directed by PD Park Joon-woo (Doctor Detective, Taxi Driver 1) with scripts by Oh Soo-jin, ENA’s Crash is slated to premiere in May.
