Lee Yi-Kyung leads family comedy ‘Marry You’

Actor Lee Yi-kyung is set to star in ‘Marry You,’ a new weekend drama on Channel A.

Premiering in November, ‘Marry You’ is a comedic family drama that explores the mismatched romance between Bong Cheol-hee, an island bachelor whose ultimate goal is marriage, and Jung Ha-na, a 7th-grade civil servant who is determined to remain single. The lively characters and relatable plot promise to deliver plenty of laughs.

In the series, Lee Yi-kyung plays Bong Cheol-hee, a kind-hearted and innocent bachelor living on Cheongdo Island. He juggles multiple jobs in the village while raising his twin nephews alone, leading a life somewhat detached from marriage. However, everything changes when he meets Jung Ha-na, sparking a newfound desire for a committed relationship.

Bong Cheol-hee is the heart of ‘Marry You,’ characterized by his gentlemanly demeanor, cheerful appearance, and charming wit—attributes that align perfectly with Lee Yi-kyung’s vibrant on-screen presence. After achieving significant acclaim in the tvN drama ‘Marry My Husband’ earlier this year, there’s growing excitement about Lee Yi-kyung’s passionate performance in this new role, which he selected after careful consideration.

The first teaser for ‘Marry You’ was released on the 14th and has already garnered attention. Lee Yi-kyung’s transformation into “Cheol-hee,” complete with an eye-catching bob haircut and bold fashion choices, adds to the humor of the show. The teaser hints at a blind date scene that promises to be both thrilling and comical, featuring the tagline “Full-scale national marriage fraud promotion project.”
