LOONA Talks about Comeback Goals, Favorite Song in New Album, and More

LOONA has returned with their new mini-album “12:00 (Midnight)” featuring its title track entitled “Why Not?”
On October 19, LOONA dropped the music video for “Why Not,” described as an upbeat electro-pop single that commends being free and unique. The song is composed by Ellen Berg, Will Simms, Julia Finnseter, and Sondre Nystrom. SM Entertainment’s producer and founder, Lee Soo Man, also took part in its new album. This is the second time this year that he participated in LOONA’s comeback, following the track “So What,” which was released on February 5.
LOONA had an exclusive interview with Soompi, wherein the members answered several questions from the fans. Here are their answers:
What was your favorite part while preparing for the comeback?
HyunJin stated that she liked everything about their comeback preparation, from having the chance to greet and give Orbits (fans of LOONA) a new album to trying out a different music genre. Choerry answered that she liked the part wherein all members give their best to deal with a new concept. And she and Yeojin commented that their new song is something that people can enjoy.
Chuu then shared that the group improved their teamwork through “12:00.” She saw how the members’ communication and consideration of each other have gotten far better. And so, she feels that their relationship has strengthened.
What does one aim or hope for this comeback?
Olivia Hye and Yeo Jin stated that they hope the results of their new track on music shows and music charts will be greater than what they received for “So What.” Heejin, on the contrary, said that she is not going to think about the results and instead consider this comeback as a way for LOONA to create improvements.
Which song on this album do you like the most?
Kim Lip mentioned that lots of people liked “Universe” and “Voice,” she also likes the two songs and the others. But she chose “Universe” as her favorite as she thinks it suits LOONA’s style more than the rest. As for JinSoul, she liked the title track “Why Not?” and her reason for this is she was given a chance to showcase her skills both in vocals and rap during her part, especially the bridge in which she shows her favorite vocal timbre.
Any artists that you want to work with?
HeeJin chose Zion.T as the artists she wants to work with as she admires his unique voice. Choerry dreams of having a collaborative stage with Christopher as she is a fan of his, while Chuu wishes to team up with Crush since she likes his voice tone and color. Chuu even covered his songs ever since she was at a young age.
At the end of the interview, LOONA gave sweet messages to international Orbits. All members expressed their gratitude for the strength, support, and love their fans always give them. YeoJin, the maknae of the group, sweetly said, “We are always working hard and thinking about meeting our international Orbits, so I hope that you will all stay healthy and wait for us. Take care of your health. I love you.”
