Na In-woo pursues his brother’s killer in Longing for You

Script reading stills are out for ENA’s upcoming thriller Longing for You, which takes us on a revenge mystery alongside Na In-woo (Jinxed at First). It may not be a new narrative by any means, but with this cast (Kwon Yul!) I’m inclined to give it a shot.

Na In-woo stars as Oh Jin-sung, a detective with a penchant for sticking his nose into other people’s business. His busybody tendencies may stem from good intentions, but beneath that jovial demeanor lies a burning hunger for vengeance. Having experienced tragedy at the hands of a murderer, Jin-sung is determined to avenge his younger brother, played by Choi Min-ki a.k.a. Ren of NU’EST (The Three Musketeers).

When a special investigative team is formed to track down an elusive serial killer, Jin-sung is assigned to the new squad. That’s how he winds up joining hands with his prosecutor friend Go Young-joo, played by Kim Ji-eun (One Dollar Lawyer). Fearless and feisty, she’s known to charge straight at culprits like a bulldozer. Her highly-principled nature means that she’s determined to counter injustice at all costs, resorting to any means necessary.

Also on the team is Kwon Yul (Mental Coach Jegal) as Cha Young-woon, an elite prosecutor. As the sole heir to his family’s chaebol legacy, Young-woon is a high-achiever in every sense of the word. Naturally, he’ll develop a rivalry with Jin-sung — not only is he determined to prove his worth, but he’s also nursing a crush on Young-joo.

Amongst the supporting cast, we have Bae Jong-ok (Royal Secret Inspector and Joy) as Yoo Jung-sook, Young-woon’s mother and Jinjin Medical’s chairwoman; Lee Kyu-han (Happiness Battle) as Park Ki-young, Young-woon’s workaholic police officer friend; and Jung Sang-hoon (The Witch is Alive) as Bae Min-kyu, the arrogant son of an assemblyman.

Helmed by PD Han Chul-soo and PD Kim Yong-min of Again My Life, with scripts penned by Kwon Min-soo (Graceful Family), Longing for You premieres on July 26.
