Nayeon’s Stalker Finally Returns To Germany, But New Video Message Indicates It May Not Be Over

Nayeon’s stalker, Josh, has gone too far on numerous occasions over the past few months, jeopardizing the safety and security of every TWICE member. But it seems his most recent action—leaking Chaeyoung’s phone number—was too far even for him. Josh has finally left South Korea and returned to Germany. However, his latest video message to Nayeon indicates this might not be the end of his harassment.

After Josh leaked Chaeyoung’s phone number on Twitter last week and she was bombarded with calls and messages, she could no longer stay silent. On January 25, she took to Instagram with a lengthy message finally taking a stand.

I had hoped I wouldn’t have to say anything, but I cannot wait for you to back off anymore — I have reached my limit … Know that I am not the type to get easily shaken up by these things. This is not me dashing out in anger. I am actually letting you know loud and clear that what you are doing is wrong. You should be ashamed.

But Josh’s act wasn’t just bothersome to Chaeyoung—it also constituted an actual crime, giving JYP Entertainment the evidence they needed to press charges against him. Not long after, the company released an official statement on the matter, confirming that Josh violated the Personal Information Protection Act and that the company would be taking immediate legal action.

The illegal leaking and sharing of personal information is causing great suffering and discomfort to our artists. In order to stop this, our agency will continue to collect evidence of such cases and we will do everything we can to take action against them.

Josh must have known he was in serious trouble. On the same day, he suddenly backtracked on his mission to be with Nayeon, releasing his own statement on Twitter confirming that he’d be returning to Germany.

Josh has regularly communicated with ONCE via Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.

i want nayeon to be happy. i don’t know her true opinion about me but maybe she wants me to go back to germany. thats why i decided to go back to germany now. i always respect nayeons decisions. and i really want nayeon to be happy. i feel sad and my heart hurts but i want the best for nayeon. i will go back to germany as soon as possible because i want nayeon to be happy. i hope nayeon realizes that i just wanted the best for her. i feel heartbroken and sad, but i think that going back to germany is the best way to make nayeon happy. i never wanted to bother anyone. i am sorry if i did. Sure enough, within a few days, it appears Josh is back in his home country of Germany. However, whether he intends to truly stop his stalking efforts remains to be seen. In a video message to Nayeon on YouTube, Josh confessed that he still has very strong feelings for her.

While he does apologize and acknowledge that his actions must have bothered her, he goes on to state multiple times that he hopes he can talk to her about it in the future.

Ultimately, it seems that Josh may only have returned to Germany because he knew he was under threat of the law. If he still wants to talk to Nayeon, there’s no guarantee that he won’t return to South Korea in the future if he believes he can get away with it. Unfortunately, there’s also nothing stopping him from stalking Nayeon during one of TWICE’s many overseas schedules.
