The teaser poster and trailer for Uprising have been unveiled.
The Netflix film Uprising tells the gripping story of Jong-ryeo (Park Jung-min), heir to Joseon’s greatest military family, and his servant Cheon-yeong (Kang Dong-won). Once close friends during the tumultuous Imjin War, their paths diverge as they face off as adversaries—Cheon-yeong now serves as King Seonjo’s (Cha Seung-won) elite military officer, while Jong-ryeo is a volunteer soldier.
The teaser poster presents a dramatic standoff between Cheon-yeong and Jong-ryeo, both gripping swords and locked in a fierce gaze. Their former bond, transcending social hierarchy, has turned into a bitter enmity amidst the chaos of war. The intense, tragic expressions on their faces hint at the deep-seated conflict between them.
The accompanying trailer begins with a flashback to their childhood friendship, despite their disparate social statuses. Cheon-yeong, initially a servant, dreams of returning to commoner status and dedicates himself to Jong-ryeo’s family. However, when those who promised him freedom betray him, the bond between Cheon-yeong and Jong-ryeo begins to unravel.
As the Imjin War intensifies, the two former friends are pitted against each other. Cheon-yeong, now feared as the ‘Blue Swordsman’ for his formidable skills, and Jong-ryeo, consumed by rage, confront each other with mounting tension. Jong-ryeo’s ominous line, “A dog that bites its master must be killed,” underscores the extent of their fractured relationship. Their fierce clash promises thrilling action and high stakes.
Uprising will be available for streaming exclusively on Netflix starting October 11.
