The conflict between AOA members Jimin and Mina have made rounds on the internet lately. It became one of the hottest topics on social media websites after the latter posted a series of mysterious posts on Instagram.

Mina claimed that a particular member from the group bullied and emotionally tortured her for ten years. It even came to a point when the bullying already led to several mental health problems and the desire to take her own life. Soon after, Jimin released an apology letter that didn’t sit well with the public. “It wasn’t an apology,” some claimed, “it was an excuse.”

After just a day, AOA’s head and rapper Jimin withdrew from the group. Videos and statements of Jimin’s alleged bullying to the former members have resurfaced as well.

Youkyung, who was the group’s drummer, left the group in 2016. It was reported that she didn’t only leave the group but FNC as well because her contract was already terminated. However, because of her recent post, people believe that she may have been another victim of Jimin’s bullying.

In Youkyung’s Instagram post, the former AOA member first said, “If I’d be honest, you were all the same to me before.” This statement made netizens wonder. “What does she mean? Is Mina the same as Jimin?”

After many speculations were made, Youkyung clarified her statement and released an explanation.

“Hello, everyone.

I don’t mean to cause a lot of confusion with the statement I made earlier, so I’m going to explain it. First, I’m sorry about the post. It’s just that something was triggered in me. It wasn’t easy to forget such memories, and now that another member spoke openly about it, it made me angry. Furious, in fact. So I got take over by my emotions.

I know it’s petty and childish to express my sentiments at a time like these, but I couldn’t help but recall the times I have suffered. Yes, I, too, underwent the same things.

I can still vividly remember how I grappled with my emotions, and maybe because I was only looking after myself that I didn’t see that others may have experienced it as well.

To myself, I thought that they were all just watching me suffer. So my initial reaction was, they all looked the same to me in the past. I never imagined that another member was being bullied too. With that, I want to apologize. I’m sorry to Mina. I honestly think that you did well enduring everything, and I support you for speaking up.

Now, I am okay, also, because of the people who supported me and are still helping me. In the past, I always felt empty and alone, like my drumset is the only thing that could understand me. It was all I had. But today, I know that isn’t true. I have beautiful people who love and care for me. I couldn’t ask for more. That’s already more than enough for me.

Again, I’d like to apologize for the short statement I’ve made earlier, which confused everyone, and I’d like to extend my support towards everyone who needs it. Have courage, and be strong! Don’t give up!

To all, please, let’s stop saying mean things that can hurt people, and thank you for everyone who supports me.”
