KBS is under a lot of pressure these days with many actors involved in its productions coming under fire for bullying accusations.
It started with actor Jo Byeong Gyu who’s appearance on an upcoming KBS variety show was put on hold because of the bullying accusations made against him.
And most recently, actor Ji Soo has been reported to leave the cast of “River Where The Moon Rises” due to the severe bullying accusations made against him. A petition asking for his removal was also posted to the KBS Viewers Rights Center. It is believed that KBS is in the process of picking another male lead.
But there has also been an issue with “Dear.M,” another highly anticipated drama starring NCT Jaehyun, Park Hye Soo and more. The drama was previously scheduled to air in late February but the air date has been halted.
Despite her agency denying [multiple times] that she was a bully; many alleged victims came forward with allegations against her specifically about the assaults at the karaoke and the playground. Dispatch has recently released a report aimed to clear her image through what they claim to be friendly messages shared between Park Hye Soo and A [the alleged victim] during middle school.
This was followed by another report by Sports World that directly contradicts Dispatch’s report and brings into question everything they published about why Park Hye Soo wasn’t an alleged bully. They revealed an interview with P and E [students who participated in the alleged assaults] who gave interviews to confirm she was there, read more here.
On March 4, her agency; again; issued a statement refuting the accusations but things aren’t calming down. On the same day, one netizen posted a petition to the KBS Viewers Rights Center asking for her removal from the drama. As of this writing, the petition surpassed 1000 signatures. According to KBS’s policy, if the petition surpasses 1000 signatures, the content of the petition must be addressed by the relevant department.
This puts KBS at a very difficult situation, “Dear.M” has already completed shooting entirely and Park Hye Soo is the first lead in the drama. It is unknown what course of action KBS plans on taking with the drama after such demands have been made public.
