New teaser for Heartbeat has Taecyeon feeling shy

KBS has been spoiling us with delicious promos for their upcoming fantasy Heartbeat – not that they need to stop – and the newest teaser features an adorable Taecyeon (Blind) along with our pragmatic heroine Won Ji-ahn (If You Wish Upon Me).

Opening with some good ol’ fan service, the teaser begins back in the Joseon era, where an open-shirted Seon Woo-hyul (Taecyeon) yells in frustration: “I want to become human!” As his eyes flash blue for the camera, we return to more modern times when a snazzy suited Woo-hyul flies up to the roof of a building.

In voiceover, a man asks the question of why, and we see our vampire sharing a moment with Joo In-hae (Won Ji-ahn), which curiously fades to a similar scene with Yoon So-hee (Peng), back in Joseon times. Jumping again to present day, our vampire hero takes in the cityscape view at night and gives his melodramatic answer: “Because of love. I want to experience a love that makes my heart beat.”

We then cut to In-hae speaking the cold truth: “That’s not love. That’s obsession.” Woo-hyul hisses at her in response, but his fangs are feeling shy and put a damper on his scare face. Needless to say, In-hae is far from frightened. The teaser then closes as our undead hero tries and fails to fly away.

With production led by PD Lee Hyun-seok (Hello? It’s Me, The King’s Affection) and PD Lee Min-soo (The Stain), along with writers Kim Ha-na and Jung Seung-joo, KBS’s Heartbeat premieres next month on June 26.
