- Park Bo-gum (Record of Youth) is considering a starring role in a new action-comedy called Good Boy. Still in the planning stages, the story will be looking at corruption and cheating in competitive sports and will feature a group of retired athletes who are recruited for the Olympics as a special police unit. PD Shim Na-yeon (The Good Bad Mother) is attached to direct with scripts by Lee Dae-il (Life on Mars, Chief of Staff). [News]
- Sung Hoon (Woori the Virgin) and Jung Yoo-min (Celebrity) have been cast as the leads in MBN’s new romance Perfect Marriage Revenge. Based on a popular web novel by the same title, we can expect a bundle of tropes with a revenge-bent heroine and a contract marriage complicating everyone’s emotions. Production will have Im Seo-ra writing and PD Oh Sang-won (Love ft. Marriage & Divorce III) at the helm. [News1 (1), (2)]
- Disney+ released new posters for their upcoming action sci-fi Moving, this time featuring our adult leads: Ryu Seung-ryong (Kingdom), Han Hyo-joo (Happiness), and Jo In-sung (It’s Okay That’s Love) – in addition to Ryu Seung-beom (Tazza: One Eyed Jack). Coming to our screens next month, the webtoon adaptation will be dropping its first 7 episodes across the globe on August 9. Subsequent episodes will be made available two a week thereafter. [News1]
- The promos continue for SBS’s crime-thriller The First Responders 2 as well, with Kim Rae-won (L.U.C.A.: The Beginning), Sohn Ho-joon (Work Later Drink Now 2), and Gong Seung-yeon (Bulgasal: Immortal Souls) leading the pack in the new posters and video teaser. - In the meantime, tvN’s sequel for The Uncanny Counter is just weeks away and we see in the newest trailer that our heroes – and villains – are ready for their showdown. With the ensemble cast led by Jo Byung-kyu (Stove League), Yoo Joon-sang (Alchemy of Souls), Kim Se-jung (Today’s Webtoon), and Yeom Hye-ran (The Glory), the action-fantasy premieres this month on July 29. - Over on MBC’s My Dearest, the new batch of stills has our four leads spending some time in wistful romance as trouble brews in the world around them. Starring Namgoong Min (One Dollar Lawyer), Ahn Eun-jin (The Good Bad Mother), Lee Hak-joo (Shadow Detective), and Lee Da-in (Alice), the sageuk is slated to broadcast in the weekend slot starting August 4.
