- On the heels of his recent role in the Japanese film Grande Maison Paris, Taecyeon (Heartbeat) confirmed casting for the new Netflix Japanese drama Soul Mate, starring opposite Isomura Hayato (Extremely Inappropriate). In a heartfelt story about love and life, we’ll be following our pair’s relationship over ten years, set against the backdrop of Berlin, Seoul, and Tokyo. Aiming to release in 2025, both writing and directing will be helmed by Hashizume Shunki (More Than Words). [JTBC]
- Fellow 2PM member Chansung (Bittersweet Hell) has reportedly lined up his next acting project as well, joining Rain (Ghost Doctor) in the baddies camp for Netflix’s Bloodhounds 2. With Woo Do-hwan (Joseon Attorney) and Lee Sang-yi (My Demon) reprising their roles as our boxing buddy heroes, production for the crime-thriller remains in the hands of filmmaker Kim Joo-hwan (My Heart Puppy), in both writing and directing. - Over on SBS’s upcoming Good Partner, Jang Nara (My Happy Ending) and Nam Ji-hyun (High Cookie) command our screens in the newest poster, teaching us how it’s done when it comes to divorce law. With Kim Joon-han (Anna) and Pyo Ji-hoon (Mouse) rounding out the attorney foursome, the legal series will be broadcasting on July 12 in the weekend slot. [Sports Donga]
- Choi Sung-eun (The Sound of Magic) is reviewing an offer to star in a new fantasy romance and webtoon adaptation called Gyun-woo and Fairy (roughly translated). With Choi up to play a teenage shaman, she’ll be pushed to save her crush from his doomed fate when she learns that his death is in the near future. Planning for a 12-episode run, production has PD Kim Yong-wan (If You Wish Upon Me) attached to direct. [Xports News]
- Casting news continues for MBC’s Undercover High School (working title) as well, with Kim Shin-rok (Sweet Home 2) reported to be playing the chairwoman of the high school board. Headlined by Seo Kang-joon (Grid) and Jin Ki-joo (Uncle Samsik), the crime-action and rom-com is expected to air in 2025, with PD Choi Jung-in (Knight Flower) at the helm and writing by Im Young-bin (Bad Prosecutor). - More promos have come out on LG’s U+ Mobile TV for No Way Out: The Roulette, delivering an eggy welcome to Yoo Jae-myung (Uncle Samsik) in the new teaser. Premiering next month on July 31, the mystery-thriller also stars Jo Jin-woong (The Good Bad Mother), Yeom Jung-ah (Cleaning Up), and Kim Mu-yeol (Sweet Home 2), in addition to Lee Kwang-soo (The Killer’s Shopping List), Kim Sung-chul (Death’s Game), and Taiwanese actor Greg Hsu (Someday or One Day).
