- We finally get an air date for Coupang Play’s Anna along with a new poster of our heroine Suzy (Start-Up). Also starring Jung Eun-chae (Pachinko), Kim Joon-han (Hospital Playlist), and Park Ye-young (Inspector Koo), an impressive teaser came out this week as well. Written and directed by Lee Joo-young, the premiere is set for June 24. [MBC (1), (2)]
- Yeon Woo-jin (Thirty-Nine) is on the casting table along with Park Bo-young (Doom at Your Service) and Lee Jung-eun (Our Blues) to star in a Netflix drama called Morning Comes to Psychiatric Wards Too. Adapted from Lee Ra-ha’s webtoon by the same title, PD Lee Jae-kyu (All of Us Are Dead) is attached to direct. [SpoTV News]
- Speaking of Netflix, D.P. will be returning soon with season 2. PD Han Joon-hee remains as the talent behind the camera and much of the main cast will be reprising their roles, including Jung Hae-in (Snowdrop), Gu Kyo-hwan (Monstrous), Kim Sung-kyun (Grid), and Sohn Seok-gu (My Liberation Notes). Newly joining the cast for the second season are Ji Jin-hee (The Road: Tragedy of One) and Kim Ji-hyun (Thirty-Nine). [News1]
- Ha Joon (Crazy Love) will be joining D.O. (100 Days My Prince) in the cast of KBS’s upcoming True Sword Battle as a fellow prosecutor. Broadcasting later this year, PD Kim Sung-ho (Move to Heaven) is at the helm with scripts penned by Im Young-bin (Sketch). [My Daily]
- In more casting news, DBSK’s Yunho (Meloholic) is in talks for a new office romance called Race alongside Lee Yeon-hee (Welcome to Wedding Hell) and Hong Jong-hyun (My Absolute Boyfriend). The drama is still in the planning stages and will be written by Kim Ru-ri (Hyena). [Sports Chosun]
- The hijinks continue in the newest teaser for KBS’s Jinxed at First, with some heavier moments mixed in for our leads Seohyun (Private Lives) and Na In-woo (River Where the Moon Rises). We also get an ominous quick look at Jeon Gwang-ryul (Wind and Cloud and Rain) and Yoon Ji-hye (Navillera). The fantasy romance will be launching mid-month on June 15. [MBC]
- Another new teaser dropped for TVING’s Yumi’s Cells 2 as well, featuring more of our animated cells along with this season’s leads Kim Go-eun (The King: Eternal Monarch) and Got7’s Jinyoung (The Devil Judge). The countdown is now at six days until the rom-com’s premiere on June 10. [Osen]
- Over on tvN, some new pretty stills were released for Link: Eat, Love, Kill in the last round of promos before the June 6 premiere. Yeo Jin-gu (Beyond Evil) and Moon Ga-young (True Beauty) are looking cute in one of those classic walking-in-the-rain K-drama scenes. But I’m also just wondering where I can buy that umbrella because I’m a sucker for mint-colored things. [Newsis]
