- Our darling mages have undergone moody makeovers for tvN’s Alchemy of Souls 2 and while I’m loving Yoo In-soo’s darker locks in the new poster, I mourn the loss of Yoo Joon-sang’s mane of glory. RIP. Together with Lee Jae-wook, Go Yoon-jung, Hwang Min-hyun, Shin Seung-ho, Oh Nara, and Arin, the second installment will be placing our characters three years after the finale of Part 1. Part 2 will be coming to our screens next month on December 10. [News1]
- Over on KBS, plans are underway for their next family drama The Real Deal Has Come (roughly translated), and casting offers have been made to Baek Jin-hee (Happy to Die) and Kwak Shi-yang (Cafe Minamdang) to headline the series. Taking over the weekend slot following Three Brave Siblings, filming is set to begin once casting has been finalized, with PD Han Joon-seo directing and scripts by Jo Jung-joo. [Star News]
- A new video teaser has dropped for Netflix’s upcoming Somebody, which stars Kim Young-kwang (Hello? It’s Me!) and Kang Hae-rim (Live On). Written and directed by filmmaker Jung Ji-woo (Tune in for Love) – with Han Ji-wan (The Killer’s Shopping List) co-writing – the suspense thriller will be releasing on November 18. [News]
- Also premiering on November 18 is the long-awaited Reborn Rich, and JTBC has been pushing out their last round of promos, including a third teaser. Starring Song Joong-ki (Vincenzo), Lee Sung-min (Juvenile Justice), and Shin Hyun-bin (Monstrous), the fantasy melo has PD Jung Dae-yoon (I’m Not a Robot) at the helm with scripts penned by Kim Tae-hee (Designated Survivor: 60 Days) and Jang Eun-jae. - Kim So-hyun (Love Alarm 2) will be starring in a new mystery romance called Useless Lies (roughly translated), which is aiming to broadcast in 2023. Taking on the part of Mok Sol-hee (a play on the word “voice” in Korean), the character is known as a “liar hunter” owing to her special ability to sense when someone is lying. [JTBC]
- In more casting news for SBS’s Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 3, reports confirmed that Orthopedic specialist Shin Dong-wook (Woori the Virgin) and Nurse Bora (The One and Only) will also be reprising their roles for the third season. Aiming to broadcast in the early half of next year, the story continues the theme of previous seasons, exploring what it means to be a real doctor. [Star News (1), (2)]
- The first posters have come out for KBS’s new time-slip drama You, Whom I Met By Chance. Starring Kim Dong-wook (King of Pigs) and Jin Ki-joo (Showtime Begins), the fantasy will have writing by Baek So-yeon (Tale of Nokdu) with PD Kang Soo-yeon (Tale of Nokdu, Ghost Detective) and PD Lee Woong-hee co-directing. Slated to air in KBS’s Wednesday-Thursday slot, the premiere is being planned for January 2023. [News1]
