  • New character posters have been released for Disney+’s upcoming crime-thriller Vigilante, showcasing our justice chaser Nam Joo-hyuk (Twenty Five Twenty One), along with Yoo Ji-tae (Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area), Lee Jun-hyuk (Dark Hole), and Kim So-jin (Through the Darkness). With a runtime of eight episodes, the webtoon adaptation will be premiering next week on November 8. [Newsen (1), (2)]
  • Also darkening up our screens is a striking new poster for TVING’s Death’s Game, which has Seo In-gook (Cafe Minamdang) and Park So-dam (Record of Youth) headlining an equally striking cast. Both written and directed by PD Ha Byung-hoon (18 Again, Go Back Spouses), the fantasy will be bringing in some holiday chills this December. [News1]

  • The new sageuk Won-kyung confirmed casting with Cha Joo-young (The Real Has Come) as our title’s soon-to-be Joseon queen and wife to Lee Hyun-wook’s (Song of the Bandits) Lee Bang-won (the future King Taejong). Playing his father is Lee Sung-min (Shadow Detective 2) as the current King Taejo, a.k.a. Lee Seong-gye. Releasing on both tvN and TVING, the historical will be launching in 2024. [Osen (1), Osen]
  • Coupang Play has been in preparations as well, with the action-comedy Once Upon a Boyhood expected to release this November. The latest stills give us another look at our quirky four – Im Shi-wan (Summer Strike), Lee Sun-bin (Work Later, Drink Now 2), Lee Shi-woo (See You in My 19th Life), and Kang Hye-won (Seasons of Blossom) – who will be taking us through their school days in ye olde 1989.   • Over on Netflix, the action-noir Mercy for None (previously Plaza Wars) announced a hefty ensemble cast with So Ji-sub (Doctor Lawyer), Heo Jun-ho (Bloodhounds), Ahn Gil-kang (Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938), and Lee Beom-soo (Private Lives). Joining them, we also have Gong Myung (Lovers of the Red Sky), Choo Young-woo (Oasis), and Jo Han-chul (Race) in addition to special guest appearances by Cha Seung-won (Our Blues) and Lee Jun-hyuk (Dark Hole).   • Netflix has also been working on the webtoon adaptation Cashero, with offers currently out to Junho (King the Land), Kim Hyang-gi (Poon, the Joseon Psychiatrist 2), and Kim Hye-joon (Connect). In a story about an ordinary superhero who protects ordinary people, the action series is still in the early stages with PD Lee Chang-min (Agency) attached to direct. [Newsen]
  • In the mean time, the promos continue for MBC’s The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract and we finally get a peek at our second leads in the newest batch of stills. Starring Lee Se-young (The Law Cafe), Bae In-hyuk (Cheer Up), Joo Hyun-young (Behind Every Star), and Yoo Seon-ho (Under the Queen’s Umbrella), the fantasy rom-com is slated to air on November 24 in the weekend slot.
