On Thursday, Niall Horan received immense backlash from ARMYs (fandom of BTS) after sharing that he hasn’t watch BTS new song’s “Dynamite” yet.
On Twitter, a fan account posted a shirtless photo of the international singer and One Direction member Niall Horan with a caption, “Niall, did you listen to dynamite of BTS yet?”

“Dynamite” is the newly released song of one of the world’s biggest K-pop band BTS, who’ve broken several records and charts due to their excellence, including ranking No.1 at Billboard’s Hot 100.
Shortly after, it seemed like the international superstar came across the post and answered honestly, “No, I haven’t.”
It was a plain and honest reply from the singer, not until ARMYs flocked to Niall’s reply section with negative comments against him.
Some of the comments call out the Irish singer-songwriter for being “racist” and ignorant for not knowing the No. 1 song at Billboard Hot 100 which is BTS’s “Dynamite”, the first time a K-pop group was able to reach the achievement.

Fans are also calling him out for giving “ignorant statement,” labeling him as “uneducated,” and referring him as an “embarrassment.” Currently, his reply has more than 40k likes, past 12k quote tweets and more than 4k retweets.
Thus, when Directioners, the fandom of One Direction (1D) found out about this issue, the fandom immediately came to the singer’s defense and said that the K-pop group’s fans have to drag him for saying an honest statement.

Niall’s fans explained that the singer has his own right to choose his music for everyone to have their own preferences and taste. In addition to this, calling him “racist” is out of context and uncalled-for, according to fans of the Irish singer.
Other fandoms who both know Directioners and ARMYs are predicting that this might blow out of propotion if the online clash between two fandoms continue, given that both fandoms are influential and powerful among other fandoms.
Meanwhile, other BTS fans and 1D fans who are not happy about the unfortunate debate showcased how good the relationship of Niall Horan and BTS as at iHeart Awards, Niall expressed how good and amazing BTS is. At the same time, Suga also revealed that he wants to collaborate with Niall as well, just showing how both artists respect and love each other.

On the other hand, BTS stayed at the top of the Hot 100 for two consecutive weeks with its first English single “Dynamite” released on August 21. The Hot 100 is a chart that aggregates the most popular songs in the U.S. every week, combining the number of streams, music sales and radio broadcasts. Like the name of the chart, it is simply a chart that cannot be climbed unless it is “hot,” and it is also the most important chart that shows objective popularity in the U.S., showing how the K-pop group is rocking the international market as well.
