Sung Si-kyung is a South Korean singer and television host. He debuted in 2001 and has released seven studio albums in Korean and two studio albums in Japanese. He has also hosted and appeared on numerous South Korean variety television shows including 2 Days & 1 Night, Witch Hunt, Non-Summit, Duet Song Festival, Vocal War: God’s Voice, Battle Trip, The Voice Of Korea 2020, On & Off. To Korean fans, the artist has captured millions of hearts, announced the era of ballads, that are still heart-warming to this day.

Sung’s official debut was in 2001 when he released his first album, 처음처럼 (Like the First Time). Mainly consisting of ballads, his debut album contained three hits and made him the best newcomer singer of the year. Participating as a featured artist on You Hee-yeol’s album also contributed to his rising popularity. His second album released in 2002 was also a success, selling more than 650,000 copies. He continued to release album after album, averaging about one a year.

Sung currently has released seven full albums – 5 are traditional ballad/pop albums, a “remake” album and a “special” album called “Try to Remember.” He also released a “Best of” album in Japan which included his first Japanese title. His sixth and final pre-army was released in 2008.

In September 2011, he made his comeback to the music industry with his seventh album. The album’s title song “The First Time” is a sweet and delicate ballad that was also released earlier in the year as a digital single. He decided to produce and release a regular album instead of a mini or a single to express his appreciation for his fans that had waited so long.

The album consists of 12 songs composed by singer-songwriters Yoon Sang, Kim Hyun-chul and Kang Seung-won. Sung’s comeback track “Even Now” released on his 7th album debuted at number 5 on Billboard’s Korea K-Pop Hot 100 for the week of September 22.

In 2019, Sung announced his first U.S. concert tour, a six-show trek across most major U.S. markets.

Sung Si Kyung is still the reigning king of writing the most touching OSTs that will always remain our favourites. In 2013, he sang the OST ‘To You’ in the popular tvN drama ‘Reply 1994’, SBS ‘My Love from the Star’ OST ‘All Your Moments’ ranked 16th on the Melon Annual Chart in 2014, in 2016, KBS2 TV drama ‘Gourmi Green Moonlight’ OST ‘Friendly, Goodbye’ was ranked #1 on various music sources, and SBS drama ‘Legend of the Blue Sea’ OST ‘Somewhere Someday’ was also released.

As such, his popularity is undeniable in the global market as much as in the domestic market. The singer who has captured that many hearts and lent his voice to a whole range of emotions has now celebrated his 20th debut anniversary. This year, he released the new digital single ‘And We Go’, featuring lyrics in English, warming up spring. Even though his concert was cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns, fans were still pleasantly surprised and happy with his recently released music.
