Reasons to watch: After what feels like months of waiting, the follow-up to Tale of the Nine Tailed is finally here, and with it, a period story set in 1938. Though we thought he got a happily ever after, our gumiho hero (Lee Dong-wook) finds himself summoned to the past. Revisiting 1938, he must deal with all sorts of pesky things: past lovers, chain-smoking little brothers, frenemies, the duties of his mystical ranking, and more.
Though we’ve been inundated with promos, they’ve only made me more excited for the premiere. And with the writer + PD committed to weaving a tale that fits within the story’s existing universe, I’m hoping for a tightly woven 12-episode drama with some swashbuckling, some one-liners, and some sob-worthy bromance moments. Anything else (like gorgeous Kim So-yeon!) is just a bonus.
TL;DR: Lee Dong-wook and Kim Bum are back as the delightfully troubled gumiho bros
