Stills, stills, and more stills for Netflix’s The Glory

If a picture is worth a thousand words, these stills are worth… well… let’s just say they give us everything we need to know about the tone of upcoming revenge melodrama The Glory. The much-buzzed Netflix drama stars Song Hye-gyo (Now, We Are Breaking Up) and Lee Do-hyun (Melancholia) — and as you’ve probably heard by now — was written by the Kim Eun-sook (The King: Eternal Monarch, Mr. Sunshine) and directed by Ahn Gil-ho (Happiness, Watcher).

The Glory tells the story of our revenge-seeking heroine, Moon Dong-eun (Song Hye-gyo), who has laid careful plans to pay back the torment she endured during high school. As an adult, she starts her war against Park Sung-hoon (Memorials), Im Ji-yeon (Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area), and her husband Jung Sung-il (Our Blues). And here the stills tell us everything we need to know, because these peeps are basically dripping with malice.

Luckily, our heroine is not alone. On her side (though we can hardly call them the good guys?), we have the mysterious plastic surgeon Joo Yeo-jung (Lee Do-hyun) and fellow abuse victim Yeom Hye-ran (The Uncanny Counter).

With a poster, teaser, and trailer in our hands — and now tons of episode stills — it’s clear we’ve got a dark, twisted game ahead. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but it’s probably a good thing the episodes will drop in sum. This one might be better enjoyed as a binge, where the cliffhangers I’m expecting can be immediately sated with more episodes.

Netflix’s The Glory releases 8 episodes on Friday, December 30.
