Top 5 Kpop MVs: Here We Go Again!

Comeback season must have started again — we have great music from WINNER, Max Changmin of TVXQ, and many more. Come see if these songs hit the spot for you, and scroll all the way down for a bonus track at the end!

Check out my New Kpop to Spin list on Spotify! The newest songs are at the end.

WINNER – “Color ring (4 ver.)”

The original MV for this song came out five years ago, but it was this remix on their new album that grabbed my ears. Come see if this is the WINNER song you’re looking for.

MAX – “Chocolate”

Max Changmin from TVXQ knows his stuff. The unique sound of this song, the rich lighting and textures of this MV — it all speaks to his long experience in the kpop world AND the fact that he’s pursuing a SECOND master’s degree (Postmodern Music, Film and Arts). In a word, the kid is good. And possibly an overachiever.

MCND – “Spring”

MCND is doing very well in establishing their sound early. “Spring” is a great summer bop in the making.

H&D – “Unfamiliar”

X1 may have disbanded, but that doesn’t mean that their members can’t still produced heart-wrenching ballads while playing a piano duet. I love Dohyon’s two voices — his lofty singing voice and his raspy rapping voice. It’s like getting two members in one, and pairs very well with Hangyul’s voice.

Stella Jang – “Villain”

I love vivid imagery and MVs that make you say “What????!!” Stella Jang definitely covers both in “Villain”, which has an interesting cabaret vibe. Check it out!

BONUS TRACK: Gaho – cover of “Love Poem” (IU)

I have loved this song since I first heard it, and Gaho’s version is nearly as heart-wrenching. Take a listen.

What’s grabbing your ears this week, k-fans? Drop down in the comments and let me know!
