From rooftop ballads to partying like it’s a quarantine to OST medleys, this week’s MVs cover it all. Come and see if you can answer the question, “What does summer mean to you?”

Dreamcatcher has a comeback soon, and you can bet they’re gonna end up on my Favorite Strong Female Voices playlist! Check it out!

N.Flying – “Flower Fantasy”

I didn’t realize until recently that summer ballads are a thing. If you’ve been reading the kpop posts for a while, you know that a ballad REALLY has to speak to me to stay on my radar, but N.Flying manages time after time. Yoo Hwe Seung’s emotional vocals pull me in EVERY SINGLE TIME. Check it out!

SF9 – “Summer Breeze”

I love it when MiataMama sends me a video and says, “You’re gonna LOVE this!” The trot influences in “Summer Breeze” definitely elevate it above the kpop standard to an earworm. The rooftop scenes are reminiscent of SHINee’s “Ring Ding Dong” set, but MiataMama says what you should really pay attention to is the blue convertible. ?

Zico – “Cartoon”

I swear, this is the summer of Zico bops. He said in a behind-the-scenes video that he’s trying to make these fun videos as much as possible while he still can. I, for one, appreciate it!

GreatGuys – “Run”

Apparently all the GreatGuys are 6 feet tall or TALLER. They cite BTS as their influence, which I can definitely see in their styling – they’re channeling the early hiphop vibe BTS embraced, and their opening outfit is very reminiscent of Jungkook’s “Dope” outfit. The song has some fascinating hooks — it will be interesting to see where this group goes.

Paul Kim – “Quarantine”

Too soon? Paul Kim doesn’t think so! His laid-back vibe is a delight to watch, and makes quarantine seem like it was almost bearable!

BONUS TRACK – Crash Landing on You OST Medley

Oh, listening to this video by Bella and Lucas made me remember all the best parts of CLOY. It’s worth the full 8-minute playtime. And they make it look so easy! (Also, CHECK OUT WHAT THEY’RE WEARING. Top notch styling, y’all.)
