tvN announces lineup for reincarnation romance See You in My 19th Life

With tvN’s fantasy reincarnation drama See You in My 19th Life moving full steam ahead into production, cast and plot setup have been announced, promising yearn and lots of it.

Based on the webtoon of the same name by Lee Hye, the plot follows the protagonist Ban Ji-eum, played by Shin Hye-sun (Mr. Queen), who has the unique ability to remember her past lives — all 19 of them to be exact. She’s lived across hundreds of years, but it isn’t until her 18th incarnation as Yoon Joo-won is cut short by an accident that she decides to use her 19th life and look for her loved ones again.

This leads us to the two other characters left heartbroken after Joo-won’s passing. On one hand, we have Moon Seo-ha, played by Ahn Bo-hyun (Yumi’s Cells 2). He was in love with Joo-won who he met when he was 12, and losing her led him to grow up to be a stoic, emotionally-guarded man present day. And on the other hand we have Yoon Cho-won, played by Ha Yoon-kyung (Extraordinary Attorney Woo), Joo-won’s little sister who has lived putting on a brave face despite still hurting from the death of her sister. When Seo-ha and Cho-won meet a grown up Ban Ji-eum, they’ll be intrigued by this friendly stranger and drawn in by her similarities to the girl they once loved.

Rounding out our main cast, we also have Ha Do-yoon, played by Ahn Dong-goo (Law Cafe), who is Seo-ha’s secretary and childhood friend.

Adapted by Choi Young-ran and directed by Lee Na-jung (Mine), See You in My 19th Life will air on tvN in the first half of 2023.
