A romantic comedy that’ll leave you hungry for more, now on Viu!
A young man who owns a late night bar, ‘Bistro’, called Park Jin Sung got to talk with a regular customer named Kim Ah Jin, a PD with a positive personality. Ah Jin finally talks to Jin Sung about the dilemma she’s currently facing, looking for a gay chef to host the new food variety, ‘Sweet Munchies’, that she suggested to her boss. In with the mix of Ah Jin and Jin Sung comes fashion designer Kang Tae Wan, forming the show’s love triangle.
The male lead, Park Jin Sung is played by Jung Il Woo. Il Woo is a known South Korean actor who gained popularity during a family sitcom “Unstoppable High Kick”.
The female lead, Kim Ah Jin is played by Kang Jiyoung, who was a former member of K-Pop group KARA. After years of doing projects in the Japanese entertainment industry, ‘Sweet Munchies’ marks her return in the South Korean entertainment industry.
The second male lead, Kang Tae Wan is played by Lee Hak Joo. Hak Joo is known for previously portraying a villain character, which makes his role in this unconventional drama a breath of fresh air for viewers.
‘Sweet Munchies’ takes the risk by adding a twist on gender bending K-Dramas, wherein the lead actor, in this case Chef Park pretends to be a gay chef. Due to the lie that Jin Sung told, any form of relationship that may bloom between him and Ah Jin is put on hold. Tae Wan complicates things in Jin Sung’s life due to the budding attraction the fashion designer acquires for the chef.
“Sweet Munchies” is already on Viu Philippines with every episode available as soon as 8 hours after broadcast in South Korea.
