On October 13, Wednesday, Mnet dropped another teaser for “Show Me The Money 9”. There, it was revealed to viewers that PENTAGON member Wooseok would be joining the show as a contestant

In the teaser, the contestans are all seen rapping with no background music. Right off the bat, the tension is high, with numerous rappers failing to impress host ZIon.T. With some contestants in tears and some appearing downcast, Zion.T is heard asking “Are you really going to continue rapping?”

The trailer boasts an impressive line-up of contestants. One notable name is Swings, who was previously a producer for the show and has now taken on the role of a participant. Though wildly acclaimed for his rap skills, the trailer shows him fumbling over his lyrics, causing him to curse. This is Swings’ first time participating as a contestant since the show’s second season.

In the first scene of the trailer, we are already greeted with Wooseok’s face as he is rapping. However, his rap is not heard in the trailer.

As Wooseok performs his rap on the show, a voice-over that is confirmed to be Changbin can be heard saying, “There is an idol rapper like this.” Changbin is also seen rapping in the trailer.

Earlier in July of this year, Mnet announced that they would be accepting audition tapes for the ninth season of the well-loved hip hop survival show “Show Me The Money”. Applications were able to submit their audition tapes until August 21, 2020, and were able to do so through email, Instagram, or their official website. Anybody with a passion for rap, whether amateur or professional, were encouraged to apply.

Having completed eight seasons of the hip-hop survival show, it is no surprise that fans are highly anticipating the ninth season. Excitement for the show has only increased following the reveal of the season’s line-up. The ninth season is set to showcase a new, never before seen format of the show, but will still keep the same diverse cast of producers. The biggest difference from the other season is the grand prize. The winner of this season will receive the title of “Young Boss”, proving that they are a force to reckoned with in the rap game.

On top of that, the winner will also get a cash prize of 100 million Korean won. The “Young Boss” will also be promoted in their artistic endeavors and activities with a super-luxurious business plan. The winner of the season will be supported with their career and activities such as concerts, albums, mix-tapes, and CF deals.

“Show Me The Money 9” has four producing teams: Zion.T & Giriboy, CODE KUNST & Paloalto, Dynamic Duo & BewhY, and JUSTHIS & GROOVYROOM. A “Producers’ Cypher”‘ was previously released, introducing the producers and their rap styles.
