BTS’s “Teamwork Makes The Dream Work”: An Emotional Twitter History

BTS just became the first and only group in the 21st century to extend their No.1 debut on Billboard for a second week. This victory has fans looking to the future while taking a trip to the past.

When “Dynamite” debuted at No.1 on the Billboard “Hot 100” chart last week, BTS became the first and only South Korean act to achieve this. In its second week, “Dynamite” racked up 16 million radio listeners, 4.4 million more than its first week (11.6M).

To celebrate, BTS posted a video of themselves screaming their excitement…

…and the words they have lived by since debut: “teamwork makes the dream work”. BTS have tweeted this phrase seven times in seven years, and each tweet marks a milestone in their history.

The last time BTS tweeted “teamwork makes the dream work” was in November 2019, after winning all 8 awards they were nominated for at the Melon Music Awards. They became the first artist to ever achieve a Daesang (grand prize) all-kill.

In May 2018, RM tweeted “teamwork makes the dream work” after BTS won “Top Social Artist” at the Billboard Music Awards for the second year in a row. This was also the first time BTS performed on the Billboard stage with “Fake Love”.

Teamwork also made the dream work on September 24, 2017, when BTS became the first Korean act to break into the Top 10 in the “Billboard 200” chart. LOVE YOURSELF: Her debuted at No.7.

On November 19, 2016, BTS tweeted their catchphrase twice to commemorate one of their most significant and emotional milestones. After three long years of blood, sweat, and tears, BTS finally won their first Daesang at MMA.

The very first time BTS tweeted “teamwork makes the dream work” was on March 19, 2013 when they were still trainees. Back then, they didn’t know they would embark on an incredible journey when they debuted three months later.

This simple tweet proves that BTS had faith in themselves long before their dreams came true. Why? Because:
