Chaos abounds in Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 3
by Jenzy
Strap in everyone, Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 3’s second teaser is out, and it’s essentially a clipshow of our Doldam doctors frantically running around trying to save lives.
We jump directly into the action, with our titular romantic doctor Han Seok-kyu (Recipe for Farewell) and Cha Eun-jae, his protege from last season played by Lee Sung-kyung (Call It Love), as they stand on a helipad watching a helicopter land. Out steps Ahn Hyo-seop (Business Proposal) as Seo Woo-jin — the final piece to our main trio — and they waste no time dashing out to save lives.

All this hubbub is centered around the opening of Doldam’s new trauma center, which Doctor Kim wants to open in a new location. We see head nurse Jin Kyung (Love in Contract) prepare the center for their new opening, and the patients begin rolling in. In voiceover, we hear a conflicting cacophony of voices. Doctor Kim Joo-hun (A Model Family) incredulously says, “Accept patients? There’s no way we can let that happen.” Eun-jae, while giving CPR, responds, “I’ll make it work.” And Doctor Kim chides the both of them with, “Focus! Whoever the patient may be, treat them equally and well.”
We see our doctors foray into first responder work in the field after an accident leaves many lives in danger while Doctor Kim is warned, “You’re going to have to be prepared for an all out war.”
We then get to see some much-missed faces like our favorite nurse Kim Min-jae (Poong the Joseon Psychiatrist), and newcomer Lee Shin-young (Boss-dol Mart), as they run out into the streets to help patients, So Joo-yeon (Seasons of Blossom) as she runs through the halls of the hospital, and Kim Joo-hun and Lee Hong-nae (The King of the Desert) running through snow with what looks like donated organ containers. No one can say this cast didn’t do their cardio shooting this!
Finally, we end on Woo-jin, sounding very much like his mentor as he starts, “I don’t care who a person is, where they work, or who they know—” and Doctor Kim finishes his sentence, “—we are going to do our best to save them.”
There’s not a whole lot of plot being shown, so this teaser feels more like a title sequence than anything else. But when you’ve managed to successfully pull off two seasons, I think it’s safe to say you’ve earned a victory lap in terms of promo.
Written and directed by the same team that brought you Extraordinary Attorney Woo — Kang Eun-Kyung and Yoo In-shik respectively — Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 3 will premiere on April 28 on SBS.
