Cinderella at 2AM kdrama – Episode 9 Recap and Spoilers
In episode 9 of Channel A’s Saturday-Sunday drama ‘Cinderella at 2 AM’ aired on September 21, Yoon-seo (Shin Hyun-bin), who has to pass the final gate, tiger mom Kim Sun-joo (Jin Hee-kyung), to marry Joo-won (Moon Sang-min), is put in a crisis where she has to reveal the pain of her childhood in order to complete her ‘Cinderella story’.
Yoon-seo, who was thinking about a reverse proposal event for Joo-won, first went to Joo-won’s mother, Kim Seon-ju, the chairman of a conglomerate, to return the money she received under the pretext of breaking up. Kim Seon-ju, who was indignant after meeting Yoon-seo, showed a cruel attitude by expediting Yoon-seo’s resignation the next day.
Seong-min (Lee Hyun-woo), who found out about Yoon-seo’s resignation, suggested a farewell party, and Joo-won, who ran over in a fit of jealousy, joined the party. Joo-won and Seong-min still bickered over Yoon-seo. While Yoon-seo was away, Seong-min played the role of a good senior for Yoon-seo and Joo-won and gave Joo-won sincere advice of trying to change Joo-won’s mother’s mind. This finally made Joo-won put away his jealousy and allowed the two to bond over drinks and karaoke.
Joo-won, who returned home drunk, confessed his true feelings to his mother. Joo-won, who had lived without even dreaming in order not to disappoint his mother, shook Seon-ju’s heart by saying, “I want to be happy now.” The next day, Sun-joo, who had been cold to Joo-won, showed an open heart instead of her usual cold attitude, giving hope to Joo-won and Yoon-seo.
Yoon-seo, who responded to Joo-won with a counter-proposal, met with Kim Sun-joo alone again. She would be allowed to marry Joo-won on the condition that she would “take charge of the scholarship foundation” along with the words, “Live properly as Cinderella.” Behind this, there was an uncomfortable truth that Yoon-seo was trying to appeal to the public with a fairy tale-like story by using her family history of growing up in an underprivileged environment. Will Yoon-seo be able to swallow her pride and endure humiliation for Joo-won and proceed with the marriage? Attention is focused on what choice Yoon-seo will make in the last episode.
