I agree about My Sweet Mobster…but stopped watching at episode five because I liked it too much and want to savour more of the fun by binge-watching it after it’s done. Um Tae Gu and Han Sun Hwa together are too delicious to have to wait every week for the pleasure of watching them. Instead, I decided to finally see “My Strange Hero” (2018) which still holds a **9.4 rating on Viki after airing six years ago. Surprised that I’m enjoying it so much (at the half way point) because I remember reading the Viki synopsis about school bullying & betrayal which made me pass it over; however the drama isn’t as harsh I thought it would be. There’s good humour and bonding in the ‘poor learners’ class along with lots of teacher angst in a privileged private school. Yoo Seung Ho and Jo Bo Ah make the ‘frenemies to lovers’ OTP believable, and wow, Kwak Dong Yeon is doing an awesome job of going against type as the High School Director. He’s usually plays so amiable, as he was in ‘Queen of Tears’, but in this one, he is w-o-u-n-d-e-d. Great out of the box acting for him. Hopefully this longer drama keeps up with itself and doesn’t stumble over repetitious feet. But after this appetizer, I’m excited to get back to ‘My Sweet Mobster’ for dessert.
